Loved the balcony in our room, so close to the main square and staff were very nice

This was our 2nd time of visiting the Iron Gate Hotel and it has still retained its charm as we remember. It is a quirky hotel with a lot of character.

Very Poor
Location, hotel itself, restaurant and bar staff.
I was wrongly accused of taking a bottle of corona and mini Prosecco from the=mini bar in the room.
On arrival I had taken out about half the contents of the mini bar to fit my medicine and a large Prosecco my Czech girlfriend brought with her. On checking out I queried the charge for the corona and proseco on my bill. I returned to the room checked they were there and took a photo which I showed the receptionist. I paid my bill less the mini bar charge, we left our bags at the hotel and strolled for three hours. On return to collect our bags I was stopped by the receptionist and told I still owed for the mini bar as the cleaners said the two bottles were not in the room. I asked to speak to the cleaner, I showed her the photo taken at 11.11 am 5/6 minutes before I paid the bill. She then said I could have put them in my bag.
Seriously. I was furious, called for a manager and insisted they search our bags which they refused to do.
This ruined my stay. They were completely in the wrong, didn’t apologise.
The rest of the staff were lovely. I spent over 1,000 euro here between the room and food and drinks and really regret staying here. It was their mistake not mine.

It was beautiful and classic. The bed was comfortable. I liked that each person had their own comforter. I know that’s a little thing, but I appreciated it. We liked that it was walking distance to everything
Nothing.

The location of the hotel was very good and was the main attraction.
Being on the ground floor, it meant that there was no windows in our room. The room had a stain glassed window, which did not allow any natural light through. Also being on the ground floor there was a lot of noise from late night passers by. We didn’t like that the floor was not level, which we assumed has been caused by a previously leaking pipe under the floor? I didn’t like the fact that the bar would not give me a glass of water one evening, effectively requiring me to buy a bottle of water from the room. Finally, it would be really good if the breakfast plates and coffee cups were of a sensible size.

Great location, beautiful suite, in the heart of it all!! Checkin easy and front desk showed us to our room and explained everything!
Breakfast buffet arrangement was challenging as too many ppl tried to get through the small kitchen area.

Authentic decorative interior design that fits the medieval atmosphere of Old Town Prague perfectly. The breakfast buffet had a rich selection and everything was fresh, tasty and of high quality.
We stayed in a junior suite and the specific room we got was quite dark with only one window, allowing little natural light to enter. Quite different from the one shown on the website. But I suppose that's always a gamble - picking hotel rooms based on pictures.

The Duplex suite was amazing. The décoration of the room and of the whole hôtel is fabulous. There were 2 bathrooms in the suite, which was a dream!
The location of the hôtel is unbeatable! You are right in the middle of the city center, with loads of cafés+ restaurants at your door step but it’s also very quiet.
The room was sparkling clean every day
The couch was very dirty, full of stains. It’s really unacceptable! Moreover, it’s right in front of the TV so you can’t relax and Watch a movie!
Breakfast was really disappointing. The room where the buffet is located is in a basement, you have to walk pass the kitchen, there are steps, you have to go up and down with your food, it’s so narrow, you have to avoid people all the Time. The choice of food is really basic and you can only Have breakfast until 10am. Way too early for people who are on vacation and who need to relax, specially in the morning.

You'll find this hotel nestled in the very centre of the old town. We were charmed by its interior design, which exudes character and a sense of tradition. The hotel's cleanliness was impeccable, a testament to the housekeeping team's impressive attention to detail. Our room was comfortable and well-equipped, featuring a thoughtfully stocked mini-bar and excellent coffee facilities, and was diligently serviced each day. The reception staff were consistently helpful and professional. Mornings were a delight with a good standard breakfast buffet offering a generous array of hot and cold dishes, beverages, and healthy options. The brunch menu also stood out for its high quality and great professional waiters. In short, it's a truly wonderful place to stay.
The split-level layout of our room included a loft bedroom with a high-quality bed; however, the severely sloped roof significantly detracted from our experience, rendering the space uncomfortably low.
Unfortunately, the breakfast service was a considerable letdown. The waitresses' unprofessional and inattentive behavior, coupled with a shocking lack of courtesy, indicated a serious need for customer service training.
The placement of the breakfast buffet in a poorly designed basement area, accessible only by passing through the main kitchen, was also a significant inconvenience. This awkward layout suggests a missed opportunity to better accommodate guests.

Great location, and the hotel itself is very bueatiful
The room had stained glass windows because it was in the basement, which I did not expect at all, and the breakfast was average.

Excellent location literally two minutes from astronomical clock and lovely square and shops and restaurants
Felt very safe at all times with the castle not far away either
Well worth doing a dinner cruise at night to make the stay even more magical
Hotel definitely exceeded our expectations with good breakfast options each morning and Riski the receptionist very attentive friendly and helpful
Surprised no complimentary water in the rooms
Would have been nice to have tea and coffee brought to the tables at breakfast as waitresses there but not doing much
Make sure you check bar prices before ordering drinks !!!!!!!!???????
Worth thinking about a break midweek before crowds come in for the weekend as got very crowded

The property is situated right in the centre from where you can assess all the old city charm.
We had booked 3 deluxe suites. At checking they refused to block my credit card for payment at checkout. They told me that booking.com customers must pay on arrival and you can’t pay at checkout. Secondly they offered us one deluxe suite room as shown in the website and another two a Normal type room which they called as deluxe suite and saying that this is in old block and the one room which is as per picture is in the new block. On insisting they changed one room the other day but one room was the ordinary one for full trip. This is the reason they take full money at checkin. There is lot of difference in the room as per picture and the room we have to keep for 3 days.
About breakfast we have to say that it was the most basic we have seen in so called 5 star property. You have to cross through kitchen to go to the dingy breakfast hall, and to top it they were not offering any eggs on order ( omelette or fry ) as they told us that any order other than on offer will be charged. So only scrambled eggs were available. Very few items were on the table.

Poor
Location and room style
Few days prior to check in they texted and said the room we booked was not available and they offer to move us to their sister hotel to the same room type, you have to walk to the hotel with your heavy luggage as is in a pedestrian area, nobody informed about this, nobody cared to offer to help, staff sort of rude, they say they are not making the rules, they tried to charge 5€ for a dental kit in a 5* hotel
