The location was good. Just a few minutes walk from the centre of town. Was at the top of a hill so although no problem for me, if you have elderly or pushing children in pushchairs it might be an issue a couple of times a day potentially. The hotel itself is nice on the eye and nicely done decor wise that you can openly see.
I informed the hotel a while before my stay that the purpose of my visit was for eye surgery so wasnt overly impressed when they put my on the top floor which included walking up a twisty set of stairs. Not much thought there. Also, the bed lined was not changed once during my stay and I had to request a change of towels which were changed once over 5 days. These things sort of make a difference to me, and would have expected at least one or two changes of both in five days. My room was nothing like the images on Booking.com. Was dated and appeared much older than what I thought I was booking.

Bad smell in bathroom upon arrival, we were told this was due to poor sewage system after heavy rain. Smell did go the following day

We received a warm welcome upon arrival and the hotel has a stylish vibe. Our room was billed as a small double but it was plenty big enough for us with space around the bed for two large suit cases and moving around the room etc. Breakfast was excellent and varied daily. The property has been renovated to a very high standard with much more character than you get at a major chain. I highly recommend Design Hotel Neruda for a city break.
Only one very small issue, we were at the front of the hotel so got woken up a few times during our stay owing to traffic etc. outside. Nothing the hotel can do about this though and I'm sure if you requested another room they would accommodate.

Location was excellent. They said no smoking allowed but often smelled it in the courtyard. Room was fine but small. Bathroom very small. Breakfast was nice but not for the price.
