Elegant apartments with Mediterranean-style décor and free Wi-Fi are offered at this UNESCO-listed apartment house, located in Prague’s historic center. It is 820 feet from Charles Bridge and the Old Town Square. The self-catering Black Star Suites are each equipped with stylish marble bathrooms. All have a spacious seating area with satellite TV. The apartments are located in a historical building and are accessible via stairs. The reception is only open from 07:00 to 19:00 and is located in the adjacent building in Hotel Clementin. Due to the historic monument protection, there is no elevator in the building. All rooms are accessible only by stairs. Prague Apartments are just a 2-minute walk away from many shops, restaurants and cafés. Staroměstská Metro Station is just a 3-minute walk away, providing connections to all parts of the city.

Staying in an historic building right in the heart of the Old Town that still gave you a sense of calm from the busy streets. The welcome and kindness of the staff was really lovely. We used the guidance that Alice gave us to find somewhere special and authentic to eat for each of our three nights. We were there at the start of the Christmas markets so there was plenty going on but the walls of this superb building were so thick that our suite was always cosy and quiet. The WiFi worked well for us, as did all of the fixtures and fittings (tea, coffee, fridge etc). Thanks to the restrictions on developing such an old building the lay-out meant that we had an enormous suite of rooms that was a bonus that we had not expected.
I would have liked a thicker softer mattress, but we slept well, so not really a complaint. We opted to pay for breakfasts, which was smart idea on the first day as newbies to Prague, however there are dozens of alternative just on the doorstep so we will be checking them out when we return.

The location is fantastic, with about two minutes to Charles bridge in one direction and old town in the other. There’s restaurants right around the corner.

Amazing location, super cosy and staff were great. We got a free upgrade to room 13 and the room was perfect. It was very cold in Prague but nice and toasty in our room!

We chose this hotel for its central location—close to all the main sights yet tucked away on a quiet street. That proved true, as we didn’t hear any noise from outside during our stay. The room was warm and cozy, which was perfect for our October visit. However, it might get a bit hot in summer since there didn’t seem to be any air conditioning. We usually stay in more modern hotels, but we wanted something with a different character this time, and BSS definitely delivered. The place has a lovely medieval charm, though taller guests should be careful since the ceilings are quite low. The bathroom was small but modern and had enough space for our needs. The receptionist, Romana, was very friendly and even welcomed us with a drink upon check-in. She also kindly accommodated our request for smaller pillows. Overall, we really enjoyed our 3-night stay—great location, plenty of character, and excellent value for money.
The area was definitely quiet, but unfortunately, some guests were very noisy. We were woken up around 5 a.m. by the loud closing of the gate and people talking loudly outside. We reported this to the receptionist, who mentioned that we could have called at the time. She said she would review the cameras to identify who was responsible and remind them to keep the noise down, which we appreciated. A more bothersome issue, however, was the smoking in the stairwell next to our room. Each time we opened our windows at night, we could smell cigarette smoke coming in. As non-smokers, this was quite unpleasant—especially since the hotel is advertised as non-smoking. If smoking is not permitted, the ashtray near the stairs should really be removed to help enforce this policy.

Very Good
Nicely located in the centre. Staff was very kind and communication was excellent. There is an old charm once you are in the building. There were 2 fans, but we didn't use them as it was not that warm outside. The apartment was what we were looking for and we will definitely come back.
There is a scope for better cleaning the dust, especially in the bathroom, and placing new sofa mattress. One of the nights was very noisy, until 5 am, from upstairs, and we could hear the conversations everywhere in the apartment.
