Wonderful
The hotel was very nice and had a very pleasant staff. The dining room was beautiful, wonderful selection of food and beverage items at breakfast and the dining staff was always there to refill coffee and clear the table. Best of all the hotels we stayed in. Convenient location.

Location, breakfast, everything except two things under and that's the reason I will not recommend the hotel.
Our room was separated from another with just one wooden door and we have loud neighbors so we couldn't sleep, including small baby, until 02:00 h. Stuff couldnt solve the problem.
The housekeeper, after we didnt respond at her knocking on the door, ENTERED in our room at 18:20h! We were silent and she thought that we wasn't in the room. We were half naked and felt very unpleasant and violated. She run out of the room. We asked stuff and no one knows why did she entered in the room, they told us that she shouldn't enter the rooms at that time of day and they avoid the topic. Very strange and be careful.

Quite central. The design was as the name suggests very art nouveau. Staff throughout were excellent and extremely helpful. Breakfast first class.
Our room was on the third floor but there was still a little street noise.
We also had to report a strange buzzing sound which occurred randomly in our room (probably something to do with A/C. Neither spoiled our stay.

The Good points
The location is, for me, ideal, central near the town center. The staff were helpful and nice. The room (Junior Suite) was spacious and had a double aspect with plenty of light. It had all the usual bells and whistles. The bed was a canopied extra large king with a comfortable matrass, the bathroom had both bath and separate shower. The was a dividing door that could be closed to give more privacy from the room entrance. The minibar was free.
The Bad points (too many to list all)
Without doubt the street noise was number one. The hotel is on a main tram route; trams are frequent and run 24 hours and they are noisy (old ex-communist era) plus Prague is a party town and the clubs don’t close until 0200 ish and the homeward bound revellers noise echoes around the old art deco building facades. The room was double glazed but if I was the hotel owners I would be asking for my money back – it just didn’t work (and I was on the 7th floor)
In the good points I said the room was large but it was also crammed with all sorts. My conclusion was that the management had read about what other hotels had and decided to put everything into one room. A long bench seat at the bottom of the bed, in front of a large TV on a table in the middle of the floor, a couch, an occasional table, a side table, two bedside tables and a suitcase rack. The windows were enormous but the curtains were not so the room was quite light by 0500. The carpet had a nice patina of stains and water marks from previous occupants
The bed had lots of pillows - large (massive) sized (4), medium sized (2) and small (2) none of which were possible to sleep on. The duvet was 5 inches narrower than the bed.
The restaurant menu was limited and the food was pretty poor. The soup I ordered (chicken) was dark brown tepid water which tasted of nothing and was very greasy. The Guiney fowl was overcooked, dry and very chewy´- so much so I gave up after one piece.
I had read that the breakfast was highly rated. I’m not sure who had done the revue but I think they must have been eating in a different hotel. True the choice was extensive but in doing so the quality suffered badly. Scrambled egg was a sloppy mess, the bacon was American style but had been there so long that it had congealed into a solid greasy mass of salty rubber. I tried on a couple of different days to get something edible but gave up on hot food and settled for bread and jam – 5 stars!!!

The breakfast was very good. The staff were helpful and friendly, while the building itself is a bit on the older side, it’s been lovingly preserved, lending the place a wonderfully classic character.
I didn’t like that the seating arrangement for breakfast was very inconvenient—tables were so close together that there was zero privacy and none of the class one expects from a five-star hotel. Also, breakfast ends at 10:30 on weekdays, and the attendant will come to your table and literally announce, “It’s 10:30 and breakfast is over,” rather than, as in other high-end hotels, gently informing you that the buffet is closing and offering to bring you anything else you’d like. This approach really lacks the refinement appropriate for a five-star establishment.
