Arrived in Prague--6.5 hour train from Krakow. We were warmly greeted in reception with a glass of Prosecco. Staff is courteous and attentive. The room is like the photos on the website-- but there is a vibe (sorry cliché) which exists in this 1517 building. We stayed in room 116 which was down the hall from a sitting room/solarium and probably my favorite spot in the hotel. Each afternoon they served wine and cheese. For location-- we could walk to all points of the city--good central location. Would stay here again!!!

Pleasant
- I really liked the reception desk staff's professionalism and attitude. Stan and Bohdana's approach made a great first impression. - The SPA is really nice and massage rooms are located further away from the common SPA space, that's why you can't hear any noise while you enjoy the SPA treatment. - Location was great, super close to the Prague Castle and other wonderful city attractions. Less crowded! - The interior design of the hotel is really original! - It's really clean, the staff cleans twice a day and is super helpful. - Hotel chocolates every day <3
It's not a 5 star hotel, I'd give it a strong 3,5 stars out of 5... :( To sum up, it's like being in a relationship with someone who bought you a castle and thinks it's going to keep you happy for the rest of your life whereas the details are what matters most. If you've been to true 5 star hotel like Raffles or Four Seasons, you probably are going to be disappointed. [ROOM] - Windows are absolutely leaky... If I hadn't had my Loop earplugs I wouldn't have slept through an entire stay. You also hear everything that's happening outside of your room. - Bathroom wasn't the best experience I had. It was impossible to take a shower without watering down a large space of the bathroom itself. I'm not a fat person but it was hard to me to enter the bathtub as well as get out of it, super slippery. Also, if you're a woman and want to do your makeup, with the bad lightning and the vanity mirror being placed between the sink and bidet it's just mission impossible. - We had to ask for toilet paper e.g. because they didn't stack it on a regular basis. [FOOD] - Breakfast staff. Only 1 lady was welcoming and interested in guests, it was when we had breakfast at 7am on Tuesday. The other ones were doing everything except for welcoming the guests and being interested in their needs. I was able to finish my breakfast before they made a cup of coffee for me. Another time, other guests asked one waitress about the check-out time in the hotel and she didn't know. - The food selection is not a 5-star experience. You have sad croissants with the same filling every day, a little bit of fruits, eggs, bacon and the usual ham and cheese + some thing sweet. I've been to 4-star or even 3-star hotels that had a greater and tastier food variety than this hotel. The a la carte breakfast like oatmeal or boiled eggs are really good though (except once the oatmeal was served on a dirty plate).

Wonderful
The staff were exceptionally attentive and accommodating. We were leaving in the evening and they were happy to store our luggage for us during the day which was really helpful. The location was a great base for exploring Prague whilst also being very quiet and peaceful. Breakfast was good. Room was spotless.
I found the bed a bit hard, but that's a personal preference. It's hard to find anything else negative about this hotel.

Very friendly staff. Pretty and old hotel yet with great modern facilities. Enjoyed the sauna. Great breakfast with a fantastic, convenient location on the slightly quieter, castle side of river, Some really good restaurants nearby.
Bedroom was fairly small, but totally fine. Personally I don't like showers in bathtubs,, but prefer separarte shower - although that is clearly just a preference

My wife and I enjoyed everything about this hotel. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the room exceptional, and the breakfast was terrific. The location allowed easy access to the Christmas markets and sights of the city. When we return to Prague, we will stay at the Alchymist Grand Hotel and Spa again! Thank you all for a great stay in Prague.

Poor
The property has a good location and the chocolates at night are a nice touch.
The majority of the staff seemed to have a bad attitude which was disappointing considering it’s a five star. This is the worst five star I’ve stayed at. We found it really lacking in customer service and is not reflective of the money we spent. On the first night our sheets were dirty on arrival so had to request them to be changed. The member of staff on the wine and cheese on the first night was pretty awful - almost like he didn’t want to be there and serve us, not even a smile. We then had to change rooms due to the level of noise - we could hear another room loudly having sex for an hour and a lot of noise outside. The night staff tried their best and did move us to another room which was a lot better but still pretty noisy from outside noise, and no apology from the reception staff in the morning (just more attitude) and no effort to fix it with us. We considered moving hotels due to the attitude and the noise. I’m currently pregnant and I wanted a relaxing few days away and I have come home not at all rested and a bad taste in my mouth. Really was a pretty rubbish new year trip. I wouldn’t book again. Extremely disappointing. Oh and a side note - the advertised wine and cheese hour is actually only half an hour starting at 4:30pm. However it was still a pleasant touch.

Fantastic location. Short walk to the castle and Charles bridge. Very clean and smart. Large suite which made our stay home from home. Lovely spar.
Spar organisation was confusing between hotel & spar reception. Inconsistent messages on what was available.

Beautifully decorated and comfortable. Great location - we spent Christmas here and chose it as it looked very festive.
The staff were not all friendly some really didn’t have a clue when it came to having an eye for detail. The breakfast service was a shambles we were put off eating at the restaurant for this reason. Also both got treatments and they were not great I complained but we had no offer of discount ( my therapist left me on the table for 30 mins to go check emails).
