The room was nice — spacious enough, with a mini fridge and a comfy bed. The balcony had a great view, and the bathroom had everything we needed, including appliances and toiletries. Staff were friendly and welcoming.
The hotel feels stuck in the 2000s. Breakfast could’ve been more interesting. The biggest disappointment was the closed pool. I specifically chose this hotel because it had a pool, but when we arrived, we were told it wasn’t accessible.

It is very exclusive and pretty. Service is outrageous and friendly.
We didn’t like the televisions all around the hotel at dinner and breakfast.
In the romanian Sauna there are no beds to relax only wooden chairs

The location and the view was very nice. The hotel was very clean and the cleaning ladies were very polite.
Staff behavior. They weren't professional, as they should be for a five star hotel. They weren't welcoming at all. They proclaimed a welcome drink and they didn't serve it at all. We asked them by phone from our room and they were so rude on the communication. Breakfast was not fresh at all, adding also the bad behavior of the staff.

The room was quite big with a beautiful view over Marianske Lazne and the forest as it is situated on the top of a mountain.
Comfortable big bed and pillows.
The room came with a jacuzzi bathtub.
Complementary drink and sweets on arrival.
Bath robes provided for the spa.
It was Valentine’s weekend and the pool was out of service, which was inconvenient considering how much you are paying for a night.
Breakfast buffet could be improved with a wider variety of pastries and cold cuts (not the best quality of bacon and ham)
Sauna option is private but you will need to pay an additional 60€ for it.

Classic hotel, well appointed, though here, again, it could do with regular, effective, management rounds to ensure all the smaller jobs are kept up with. The hotel is a little run down in details.
It’s quite a bit off the beaten track. Grooming standards of a few of the team members was far below par (where is management?). The original AC wasn’t working, the mobile unit did, but was very, very loud. No porter service, had to lug our own luggage around. The spa treatments were inconsistent in quality, ranging from very good to poor. Housekeeping staff sitting on the floor in the corridors, gave a poor impression.

5 starts hotel with poor aircondition? wow! no accesible for handy cup people togo to the pool? cold water in the indoor swimming pool? and the answer of the man in the lobby was...yes we have heard that story from another people! i will give this hotel only 3 stars! even a pot to boil water was not in the room! i had to go to the lobby to take hot water for coffee!

Location is good.
Fitness room is a shame. Same about wellness which looks like in elders house, no jacuzzi. Not to mention instant coffee for breakfast.

Beautiful Grande Dame of a building.
Restaurant very elegant despite the TV screens going.

Breakfast was definitely not in the 5 star category.
When compared to other 5 star hotels in our many travels, this was perhaps the lowest level of breakfast offerings. Some staff were also unfriendly. The Esplanade in general is showing signs of wear & tear. More financial and personal investment is needed to keep it on the ‘cutting edge’. The property is certainly worth it. A jewel from the early 1900’s.
