The night shift of the reception was kind.
We were there only for one night. So we were given a room full of dust, hair and dirt. Luckily the beds were fresh. Parking costs 400 crowns. The day shift of the reception was super unfriendly, started to argue that we have to pay extra day for parking (we arrived in the night and wanted to leave the car for a couple of hours after checkout) and get out at 10 in the morning. She also didn’t let us go spa (even paying extra) and suggested no option but to leave.
The breakfast was ok, just a regular Czech-German breakfast with sausages, bacon, egg powder-made scramble and brown liquid instead of coffee.
so the price is really ridiculous for a bed and an exceptional breakfast. There are plenty options around for a half of this price.

The breakfast hall is nice. The swimming pool with hot water is nice too.
The paint on the walls is falling off in some places. The hamam ceiling is moldy. The car park system is too complicated. Nobody speaks any English at all. German or Czech or Russian only.

We liked the Saturday night concert, and general vibe. The wellness was very nice and relaxing. the staff, especially in the sauna world was very kind, helpful and with a good sense of humour.
There could be more vegetarian/vegan options in the restaurant. At least non-dairy milk as people with different food intolerance stay at the hotel. (But otherwise the food was great!)
The swimming pool ceiling could be fixed.

Breakfast was amazing with very generous choice options, as well as the new spa and saunas were great and looking fresh new. Amazing location right by the forest tracks and with a nice view over Marienbad.
The hotel is very traditional, the staff was sometimes not that friendly. Would expect a better treatment in 4* and more professional communication.

Sauna world was nice, staff was friendly (except ladies from reception), a nice corner for the kids. The swimming pool is nice as well with rome bath included and access is not limited.
We have booked an "extra spa package" and in this, we got included only 0.5h entry to the sauna for each adult person for 5 days! Yes, it was only 0.5h for 5 days. In offer was not included details what is included in the package. We paid full price for our kids and we have asked if we can get some more access and the lady from reception said no because kids are not entitled to go to the sauna. When I asked if I can talk with management about this, they said I should talk to booking.com as I booked via this page. I was offered as well extra sauna time for around 20 Euro/person for 2h. Food was average, a lot of things were repeated day by day. Parking is rather expensive - 12 euros per night (but we were informed upfront so no complaints about this).

When we arrived at the hotel at 19.00 pm, the rude lady at the reception insisted that I had booked a single room, while we were two people! After I showed her the booking confirmation, we waited for an hour,so after an hour she gave us a room and with regret I found that it was not what I had booked, it had two separate beds, while I had requested one king bed, and i had the confirmation from booking.after I went to the reception again and complained, the rude lady thought I was lying to her, and asked me to see the booking confirmation !!
after that he complained to us because we did not arrive for a check earlier !!! while again I showed her the confirmation of the check in time, 19.00-20.00!
So after total two hours we took the correct room but this fact spoiled our mood, also because of this fact we missed the opportunity to go to the pool, and eat the dinner that was at the price, we had only 10 minutes for dinner, and there was almost nothing left.As a customer who spoiled our schedule and our mood because of the hotel, I asked to speak to the manager to explain to me why this happened, but he never showed up.

The castle itself and the swimming pool.
The procedures are very basic. Impossible to book an appointment for any extra procedure. Some nurses are so tough and sharp communist. I personally felt frightened of.

1. Location- walking distance from the center of the city.
2. Surrounding nature - it was our second stay, and this time we selected it also because surrounding nature. First time we booked Excelsior hotel, but due to pandemic it was not operating, and we received note that we would be placed in Chatea Monty. Also we liked walking distance in spite of some walk up the hill.
3. Breakfast - good selection and pleasant service. In warm season outside terrace is nice.
4. Lobby bar- Good service and good variety of drinks
5. Inside interior- reprints of many famous paintings makes you like walking in museum. Cozy interior
6. Rooms are good , convenient wardrobes. Clean and nice bathroom.
7. Staff in general responsive and helpful.
We had deluxe double room with balcony. Considering level of the hotel, price and deluxe room:
a. all curtain set is cheap, thin, and old. Room decoration is nice, however thin and old curtains spoiled the impression of the whole room.
b. pillows are too soft, at least some firmness would be appreciated. They should be of overall average acceptable standards.
c. Bathroom set: for such price no separate shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, lotion. One gel which comprise all previous components is not acceptable for such level hotel.
d. Unpleasant experience with housekeeping service: cleaning lady knocked our door at 9:00 am when we were about to go for breakfast and we let her know that we would leave in 5 minutes. When we came back tired at around 7 p.m., our room was not cleaned. So we didn’t get this service.
e. English language of all staff is poor.
f. Hospitality industry considers some level of politeness and affability, which we were lacking at the front desk. It worth to say that it refers not to all employees of the front desk. Unfortunately one person can spoil impression and hard work of all other team members.
