This hotel is very comfortable, it's near the train station and also close to the downtown area of the city. The rooms are spacious and clean, light and quiet. The bathroom had a bathtub and shower. The room and bathroom were warm enough to feel cozy and enjoy the stay indoors. There was a coffee maker with complimentary coffee and tea. There was also a bottle of complimentary water, glasses for water and prosecco. The decor of the room was very pretty, functional and comfy. The breakfast was great with a wide selection of savory and sweet foods, fresh fruit and vegetables, great coffee and also prosecco. This hotel is one of my favorite places to stay whenever I visit Brno and it didn't disappoint.

This is my favorite hotel in Brno, I come here regularly and I already stayed in different hotels, however I return here most often. This time we even got an upgrade, so our room was more spacious, it had a coffee and tea maker, with complimentary coffee and tea, a seating area, a work desk, comfy beds, lovely view. The interior decor is elegant and functional. It was squeaky clean and absolutely quiet. Since we stayed there before Christmas, the hotel was tastefully decorated and there was a subtle but pleasant fragrance of apples and cinnamon. The staff was, as always, very friendly and welcoming. The stay at this hotel made me feel like at home and I enjoyed Brno even more knowing I will be spending the night at such a wonderful place. The location of the hotel is close to the railway station and in the city center, it has a car park, which is important if you drive there and it's within walking distance from the downtown area, the beautiful sights and Špilberk castle. Definitely an ideal place to stay for a city break.

Nice historic hotel in the city center. Excellent breakfast, great location, just in front of the central train station and literally steps away from the old town. We got an upgraded, spacious and comfortable room for the same price as a guesture - which was very much appreciated!
The streetfront room was very noisy during the nights, unluckily, it was difficult to have a rest and get asleep. I am not sure if it's a four stars level placing mini bar list in the room, with empty fridge. I needed to go to the reception to ask for minibar beverages, and when I asked about this practice, I was told that it's a management decision.

This is old style, but even modern hotel, with a kind, elegant atmosphere. Its location is very advantageous for the people who want to discover the historic town on foot. The farest point is at about 800 m from the hotel. Only the Spilberk Castle which must be approached maybe by public transport or by car. If someone arrive in Brno by car, parking place it to be reserved in advance, 20 €/night. There are lots of pubs, restaurants nearby, however the restaurant of the hotel is excellent quality as well. Breakfast: we felt ourselves in the Heaven.

The breakfast was ample with lots of different choices. I just wish they had more Czech cuisine to try, the odd kolach really wasn't enough tp savory Czech food. The Hotel itself is outstanding, the decor is stunning. I was upgrade to a suite which was amazing. The service from all other staff at Reception and in the dining area was superb. They went out of their way to accommodate my family you visit me at the hotel. Thank you for making my time with them so special.
A young porter tried to get my elderly cousin carry my 30kg suitcase to my room, at first it come across as a joke, which I found in poor taste. This kid tried for a few minutes to wrangle his way out of doing his job until I told him that his demeanor was unacceptable for such a establishment as the Grand Hotel Brno and that he is paid to do a job and should be ashamed of himself for trying to get an elderly gentleman to his job. I believe he was a migrant from the Ukraine I did put in a complaint but was told he wouldn't be working there much longer.

I have stayed at the Grandhotel Brno every time I have visited Brno. It is the best hotel in town in my opinion. My friend and I were fortunate to acquire rooms due to the large motorcycle race taking place that weekend.
I wish smaller, less expensive rooms were available, but you take what you can get.

Street noise will wake you up at 5 or 6 am. Garbage collection, deliveries, etc. everything can be heard from the room. Bad window sound insulation.

The location is very convenient being right next to the transport hub and the historical center of the city. The old (but well-maintained) building provides good sound insulation and my yard-facing room on the top floor was quiet. The street facing rooms can be quite noisy, though, due to the trams and the trains. The rooms are decently furnished and clean, the breakfast had good choices and was well-made.
Here are some small complaints, which would hopefully help the management improve the experience (I had room 428): * The music at the (recently-renovated) restaurant is better than on my last visit two years ago - at least it's not some dance techno or such - being 90's-00's heavier rock, but still not as appropriate for a relaxing dinner as the blues/jazz was in the old bar. The bar and its music are still there, but most of the time there's no one there and you can't really order anything. * The restaurant portions are too big for a single meal for me and I really struggled picking anything, picking the same goat cheese salad every evening. Same with the desserts. * The maids are just doing the full cleaning everyday, despite the old stickers about environment, the ones with "drop on floor to change" instructions. Everything is changed anyway. Perhaps just take them off already. I had to put up a "do not disturb" to get some control over that. * The long delay in AC control on the wall is confusing. It took a while to figure out that it's actually working, you just needed to wait a long time for the AC to react. * The controls for opening one of the two windows weren't working. Shade control worked fine. * There's no top fixture for the shower head, requiring you to hold it at all times when using, which is not that great. * There's no shelf space near the sink and I had to cramp everything I needed on to the sink itself. * The bathroom has a long narrow drain along the furthest wall, the type normally used in showers. However, here it would only be used in large emergency spills, not normally, and so the water in its U-bend dries out, letting the sewer gases in, which smell rather awful. Took me a while to figure out where it was coming from, but simply pouring some water into it fixed the problem - which until that moment was rather bothersome.
