The location is very convenient being right next to the transport hub and the historical center of the city. The old (but well-maintained) building provides good sound insulation and my yard-facing room on the top floor was quiet. The street facing rooms can be quite noisy, though, due to the trams and the trains. The rooms are decently furnished and clean, the breakfast had good choices and was well-made.
Here are some small complaints, which would hopefully help the management improve the experience (I had room 428):
* The music at the (recently-renovated) restaurant is better than on my last visit two years ago - at least it's not some dance techno or such - being 90's-00's heavier rock, but still not as appropriate for a relaxing dinner as the blues/jazz was in the old bar. The bar and its music are still there, but most of the time there's no one there and you can't really order anything.
* The restaurant portions are too big for a single meal for me and I really struggled picking anything, picking the same goat cheese salad every evening. Same with the desserts.
* The maids are just doing the full cleaning everyday, despite the old stickers about environment, the ones with "drop on floor to change" instructions. Everything is changed anyway. Perhaps just take them off already. I had to put up a "do not disturb" to get some control over that.
* The long delay in AC control on the wall is confusing. It took a while to figure out that it's actually working, you just needed to wait a long time for the AC to react.
* The controls for opening one of the two windows weren't working. Shade control worked fine.
* There's no top fixture for the shower head, requiring you to hold it at all times when using, which is not that great.
* There's no shelf space near the sink and I had to cramp everything I needed on to the sink itself.
* The bathroom has a long narrow drain along the furthest wall, the type normally used in showers. However, here it would only be used in large emergency spills, not normally, and so the water in its U-bend dries out, letting the sewer gases in, which smell rather awful. Took me a while to figure out where it was coming from, but simply pouring some water into it fixed the problem - which until that moment was rather bothersome.

The hotel boasts a prime location near the main railway station and the city center. The hotel has comfy beds, quiet rooms, carpeted floors, and a hot water kettle and a coffee maker in the room, which is essential for me because I am usually not hungry enough in the mornings to go for breakfast, but a coffee is always a must. Furthermore, I like a warm cup of tea before going to sleep, so this is something I always look for in any hotel room. The staff is friendly and helpful as well as welcoming. The hotel is immaculate, and my room overlooked a quiet street, where I could hear the blackbeard sing in the morning, which made it very pleasant.
The room was a bit small for my liking. Fortunately, I was alone, but I wouldn't want to stay there with another person. It would have been cramped. Furthermore, there was a group of students/teenagers, probably on a school trip, and they were running around the corridors, shouting, which was quite unpleasant and disturbed me. I wish the staff from the hotel had told them to be quiet, but nobody seemed to care, not even their accompanying teachers/adults.

The breakfast was great! There was a buffet and you had a large selection of jams, sausages and ham. There was also a large selection of pastries, as well as eggs and small pastries.

Opposite train station and close to and tram stop to get to exhibition grounds.
Comfy bed.
Good breakfast.
Step in hand held shower rather than walk in shower. I know this is still common in a lot of CZ family homes / apartments (I live here) but I don't expect it in a hotel

This hotel has been totally refurbished, and our rooms were huge! All messages were answered promptly before our stay and staff were professional and helpful. Close to the bus and tram stations and at the foot of the old town. Bed linen and bed comfortable and high quality, spotless.
We booked 2 rooms for 3 nights. For some reason one room only had a handheld shower over the bath with no hook whereas the other had a separate shower cubicle. I’m sure we could have asked to change the room but after a late arrival we couldn’t be doing with changing rooms.
