I was a little disappointed to not get the sofa pictured in the room description, but the hotel accommodated us by providing a sofa bed. Breakfast buffet was good. Restaurant for dinner was fine, a little expensive. Expansive lounge areas with a nice view of the National Theater. Nice to have night lights and outlets by the bed. City center location was what we wanted.
Kind of shocked that there was no book explaining all the hotel amenities. It was a dumb (not a smart) tv with no apps and I wasted an hour trying to use the tv menus to cast from my devices before being told that was not possible. The tv and room had no master list of channels or programming, so best you could do was to hope to find a show/movie as it was starting. The room had not one piece of art. The frosted glass around the toilet and showers were off-putting. There should always be mats and grab bars in the showers. The lighting system for the room was impossible to figure out without calling the staff.

Staff were amazing. Friendly and attentive. I highly recommend the focaccia appetizer as I am still thinking about it days later. Drinks were excellent too.
Beds were uncomfortable and as a group, we didn’t like the transparent shower.

The room was pretty small. The shower was disappointing, with lukewarm water, low water pressure, and no proper separation from the room, which caused the entire area to flood after use

Breakfast could have had more selections in breads. The dinner menu could have had the focaccia selection available for 1 instead of for 2. Restaurant selections much more expensive and not as varied as Balmoral nearby.

The staff was incredibly friendly and kind - everyome from the porters to the breakfast crew.
Just that there was no parking on the premise but there is a valet parking (which comes at an extra cost). But due to San Jose traffic it’s a bit inconvenient to opt out of it.

Location was perfect for walking around the central markets of San Jose. Plenty of restaurants, stores and museums
The bedding in our room felt very damp I guess due to high humidity. The ac was working correctly. Also, they precharged my credit card over $100 anticipating us eating/drinking in the hotel. They owe us money back now.
