Beautiful property and staff. The room was big, spacious and comfortable. As it's adults only a much older demographic stay here (I'm 39). Laundry service was great and nice information about tours and things to do around the area. Found the staff endlessly helpful.
The free breakfast was ok but nothing to write home about. I had a massage which was a little mediocre for the price. Unfortunately they had some unusual wifi issues whilst I was there due to recent storms.

The staff was courteous and professional. I enjoyed the pool and the breakfast was very good.
The refrigerator didn't work, there were no phones, and the shower wasn't private.

Everything was great. Very spacious suite/apartment, and the bed was the most comfortable one I have found in Costa Rica.
There is no restaurant on site. They just serve free breakfast in the bar room. Typical Costa Rican dirt/rock road littered with potholes leading up to the Hotel.

Spacious room.
The staff tried their best to improve our stay.
We designed.
Comfortable bed.
Comfortable sofa.
Lots of storage.
The breakfast was ok - I expected more from a boutique hotel.
The bar prices were way over priced.
The tv is small and a bit outdated to 2025.
Kitchen have plenty of room and storage- but the equipment was old , and really only the basics - very easy to equip it with actual cooking gear

The landscaping is lush and lovely. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The A/C and hot water/water pressure worked well. Breakfast was a highlight (very good). Staff was friendly when approached, though service was not proactive.
Parking is lacking. Had to park at another property nearby. “Pool view” room just means it’s on the ground level. We had no view of the pool. Speaking of the pool, it was VERY chlorinated, so I didn’t stay in it long. The mini bar was not stocked. The in-room espresso pod machine also didn’t work. We forgot toothpaste and they didn’t have nor sell any. I’ve never been to a “4 star” property that didn’t offer basic toiletries. So, I had to trek out in the rain for toothpaste.

Best thing about Umami was the breakfast each morning, the peace and quiet by the pool, and the staff who go above and beyond
It's difficult to say a bad thing about Umami but we did find our bed was exceptionally loud. It was very squeaky. It can be difficult getting comfortable when each time you move the bed sounded like it was going to snap. That said, it wouldn't deter me from staying again.

The location was excellent, away from the main road but still close to all the restaurants and bars. The staff were really friendly and helpful with suggestions of were to eat and excursions. Thanks bracheal and tony.
Only negative was the constant lounge music playing in the bar area.

Wonderful
Gorgeous hotel right near town, lovely rooms, comfy beds, beautiful pool. Staff were so kind and always happy to help, breakfast was delicious and we would definitely return. Would recommend eating at the local Thai restaurant and Koki beach. We went for new year and the party on the beach at jonnys place was so much fun. We also used the garage on the corner to fix a flat tyre.
