The location was perfect. We heard some howler monkeys and it was close to many restaurants. It was an amazing experience. The staff was super friendly and welcoming!
It would have been nice to get a warning about the howler monkeys. They scared my friend :D

Very Good
The onsite staff are fabulous! The issue is that communications through Booking.com go to an office in San Jose that doesn't always communicate with the onsite staff.
We stayed in the Beach House and it's really cool architecturally, but there aren't a lot of spots to hang out inside. There's a great porch with a couple of hammocks and a separate private area with a wood-fueled hot tub and dining table. One night, ants were just pouring through a seam in the kitchen floorboards. We finally filled the seam with dish soap and that slowed them down. Beds have mosquito netting but it's so dense that the breeze from the fan doesn't penetrate it so sleeping can get a little warm. Overall a really cool house, but IMO a bit overpriced... although we were there during high season so maybe that's the norm.
Private walking trail to the beach. Tuk-tuks to Puerto Viejo cost $8-12 each way.
We had a car but took tuk-tuks into PV, car was helpful for getting to Cahuita, Manzanillo, etc.
It's a super humid area which makes drying clothes impossible without a dryer; even laying them directly in the sun didn't work. Towels smelled so strongly of mildew that we couldn't use them to dry off.

I love the charm of the house
Unfortunately it rainy we only stay one night. So we didn’t get use one of the main things we wanted not use. Nice beach
Needir to be a bit more cozy but really fun for the kids . Mosquitos not fun may be more screens to prevent them.

This was possibly the most unique property we've ever stayed in. It is in the middle of a rain forest, and we saw howler monkeys just outside our bungalow, and a sloth lying in our driveway. The decor was very unique, and the place was spacious. It's also a short walk along private beach access to Playa Uva, one of the great beaches in the area. It's not a Marriott and is quite rustic, but for those who want a jungle ecolodge experience, it was fantastic.

Fantastic, characterful property which is in a beautiful setting with wildlife on the doorstep! The place is spotlessly clean, well equipped and has a powerful hot water shower. The space around the lodge is fantastic - the other tree house lodges are close by but you wouldn’t know it as each has lots of space around so you feel yours is absolutely private. Wildlife is easy to spot from the decking, especially the hummingbirds.
Loved the local restaurants and cafes too, if you choose not to cook. Would highly recommend.

They wouldn't give out advertised continental breakfast until 8am, which was just a bag of pre packaged food even though we left at 7:30am. The in room coffee maker is the cheapest pos you could possibly buy. Staff on shuttles and front desk were rude.

Poor
Beautiful lodgings in the forest with direct access to the beach, shame about the state of these lodgings!
tired and rundown lodgings, grimy bed/sofa and towels smelt.
Showers barely worked and the shower head fell off as I tried to adjust. With proper maintenance & more trees, this place could potentially be a gem! Price totally not proportional with the offering!

Wonderful
I loved how rustic the treehouse was. It was exactly what we were looking for. Sonja is amazing. Great staff!
One night we found a gigantic grasshopper-lookin'-thing in our bedroom. This is not the Lodge's fault, it goes with how rustic the place is. I'm just used to bugs in Canada and was startled by how large it was!! We weren't sure we'd be able to catch it and bring it outside because it looked like it could jump 6ft in the air, but turns out it can barely hop 6inches. So, we caught it in a cooking pot and released it outside.

The property is stunning. Very natural landscape and well maintained. Loved the walking trails within the property and that we had our own beach access.
The suites are stunning! Loved the incorporation of nature into the structural design. All the extra amenities are great! Makes for a very comfortable and relaxing stay.

Wonderful
Very unique, private, wooded with wildlife and jungle all around. Hosts were amazing as well. Highly recommend
The beach front was limited and a bit rough (waves, rocks, etc), but a short walk along the beach led to a calm cove with no rocks
Thank you for your information!
