Big room. The kitchen area is small, but usable. Good bathroom. Large comfy bed. Desk and chair. Lovely little private patio. Good AC.
- There was no stove, so to cook anything you had to use an electric skillet.
- Not too far from town, but was a bit of a walk -- maybe 10 minutes. And the last 100 yards were down a dirt road. If you have a car (which I assume most people have at this hotel) then it is no big deal. Even walking, it isn't too bad, but just be aware there will be a walk down a sometimes deserted street if you come home late.
- Ground floor units don't get a lot of light, but there is a large front window. If you want more light (and privacy) then ask for a unit on the second floor.

Alana is amazing and so welcoming. She tended out every need and we were thrilled with the hotel. Huge shower and comfy bed. Kitchenette was nice so that we could have coffee and breakfast in our room.

What did we like most about the property? Alanna! She is so sweet and helpful (and patient as our Spanish is poor). The location was great, close to town but still quiet. Private parking was great and the internet WiFi was stable if there weren’t too many people on it. We would definitely stay there again.
A couple of outlets were wonky, but useable still. The bed or mattresses could be improved.

Alanna and her Uncle were our hosts. They were super attentive to our needs, even if we didn't ask for something, they would offer it. We were given fresh coconut and coconut water most mornings, when sitting in the patio kitchen area, she brought a fan to keep us cool. She set up a hammock on our patio area for my husband. The location was in town, but not where it was loud. The closest beach, Playa Negra was beautiful and hardly used, it felt like it was personally ours. A vast selection of excellent restaurants, shops and groceries are within walking distance. We never needed a car or taxi. Bicycles are easily rented if you want to venture outside of the town. We even found a cute, friendly little Baptist church for Sunday's worship.
Maybe a newer mattress would have been nice. But it was fine. In the entire area of the town, the only thing we didn't like was the nearby vegan restaurant. Overpriced and underwhelming.

I arrived early to a very friendly welcome from Alana, nothing ever seemed to phase her, she always had a smile and was patient with me, as I didn't get the knack of locking the door.
The room was spacious with everything you could need and it felt safe.
You could hear the waves crashing, geckos calling and I saw both racoons and an agouti along with many colourful birds in the car park
The hotel is on a little side street away from the action so it's quiet and I actually felt safer walking down that road to the hotel than on the main road in the dark, when it, rained as it seemed to have better lighting.
It was only a short walk to the centre no more than a 10 minute walk along the road or even a dawdle on beach during the day
I'd definitely stay again, a big thanks to Alana and her Tio, who also made me feel at home
Nothing , some may not like that there is no breakfast but there were plenty of good options in town and you can always use the kitchen to make your own

10 min walking to puerto viejo , theres a new sidewalk that goes from the main street by the beach to puerto viejo . perfectly away from noise but close to town . We were able to shower before leaving even after check out , thanks for that !

The staff was wonderful. Stored our luggage pre-check-in then put it in the room for us. Besides the large shared kitchen outside, the room itself had a mini-kitchen with table and chairs, fridge, kettle, microwave, coffeemaker with coffee provided!
A bit of a walk from town, best to have transportation (rent a scooter).

This little hotel is a jewel. I loved staying here. Alanna and Javier were so welcoming and kind. If you want to experience "la pura vida", this hotel has the vibe. My room was sparkling clean and had a little closed terrace so I could experience the outdoors. You can hear the waves in the sea from the hotel. Highly recommended. Gracias!

Location just outside of Puerto Viejo, good value for money compared to others in the village.
Quite noisy when guest hang out and celebrate on the patio. Noise from drain pipes from apartments on the 2nd floor. TV did not work properly.
