Location is great, not in the center of town but a very close walk or bike ride. I loved renting a bike, it’s easy to explore all over the place.
I really loved how this hostel has a tab that you pay at the end of your stay instead of needing to pay for everything upfront and separately. The staff are fantastic conscious cocreators and will do what they can to make you feel at home. Very nice lobby area people liked to hang out in, hanging with the staff, hostel residents and furry friends. Stay at La Ruka if it feels resonant, the field of the hostel attracts amazing heart-full and trustworthy people. I felt very safe leaving even valuables in shared spaces. They also have different fruit trees they welcome you to pick from!
Lots of construction and noise at this time but always cool to see their team hard at work. Whole Staff is friendly and share many gifts of smiles

La Ruka is the perfect location between Cocles and the town centre. I loved the bikes available for rent! The hostel is clean with friendly staff and is a quiet place to unwind after a long day of exploring. I really enjoyed the communal spaces like the kitchen, yoga shala, dining room, and reception area for meeting new friends and sharing dinner and conversations.
I love La Ruka so much that I returned for two more visits and would return again!

It was overall really nice! The privacy in the beds was great. We had an A/C dorm and the A/C worked amazing. They kept it on all day which was so nice. The bike rental was a nice touch & made the distance to town not as bad
They charged an 8% Credit Card Fee which I think is very high & slightly unethical since I already paid all the fees were included in the price from bookings.com

A lot of amamities one can use, as a sport and yoga area, kitchen and even a Sauna and ice bath (against a fee). The staff was super friendly and even helped me to get my stuff back that I forgot at the hostel.
The beds were quite hard and no AC in the room.

I stayed there for a few days. I just arrived by myself and I meet a lot of great people from different countries. The staff are really nice, friendly and respectful. The hostel is confortable, you can find everything that you need to cook, to organice your staff and also to spend time chilling there. One of the greatest things is that they have a space to do yoga and different yoga classes and also ice bath and sauna ! Sometime could be noisy because the location is in the main road that connect the town with the beaches but even that my experience there was wonderful !

It’s very clean and quiet. Everyone is extremely helpful. If you want some action you can go into town (10min walking or 3min bike) if you want some peace and quiet you’re right at the beach or stay in the really nice garden. It’s really green and beautiful. As a sólo traveller you can easily connect with others or chill in a hammock! Wifi is working everywhere, beds have curtains for privacy and you can even rent bikes. I really really enjoyed my stay, I already came back and will come back again!

The people in the reception are friendly and helpful!
There is not hot water in the kitchen, which is not sanitary at all.
The dorm room has AC, but they keep the remote in the reception. Sometimes they forget to turn it on, and they also decide the temperature (too hot).
The bathrooms could be way cleaner, and there is no pressure in the shower in the dorm.

Overall excellent hostel with a great mix of socializing and chill laid back energy. Clean. Many activities available. Ice bath was an awesome experience. Well situated between town and punta uva/ other beaches. Cheap bike rental. Thank you and see you next time La Ruka!

I loved the hospitality with which they treat you, as if you were family. They have dogs and cats and they are adorable! The beds and communal facilities are very good. There are also yoga classes and you can try soaking in an ice bath session ?

The staff are awesome and a yoga class. Plus a cup of free morning coffee.
On the road so was a bit noisy for me personally. But a couple of nights we could handle.
