The staff was very nice and helpful except for one person - The place offered everything I needed and it was an attractive space very near a popular beach.
The staff member who was at the registration when I checked in was HORRIBLE - One of the rudest and least helpful persons I've ever dealt with! I tried to explain that the room was not what I expected and why based on the online information I showed her but she interrupted before I could get halfway thru a sentence and then began making demeaning assumptions and insulting comments about me. Once I fully understood the situation I realized that my expectations about the bed and room were incorrect and she could have explained this in a calm and polite way, but she chose to immediately become argumentative and insulting instead. She might be OK in a backroom job but she should NEVER be allowed to deal with customers.

I paid the same price for the room upstairs with no bathroom that I had paid for the downstairs private room with bathroom and lots of space. I definitely wish my first room had been available for our needs. Also there was a group of travelers that was very loud past the quiet hours.

It’s very close by the beach and has a big kitchen with enough place for multiple people
i had cockroaches in my bed, there were old cereal bowls in the room and a lot of trash, not enough space to put all the luggage on the floor, no knifes in the kitchen?!? And we were told we could stay together in a room with our friend priorly and they totally messed it up. i was really annoyed bc we requested that in advance and were told that it shouldn’t be a problem.

The location of the property, access to the beach, and that it had a restaurant. I am vegan, and the restaurant had nice vegan options. It also had a shared kitchen.
The room! It was below par. First, it was 2 floors up which was nowhere mentioned. Second, it was literally like a box, too small. Third, it smelled of mold and I was sneezing the whole time because I have an allergy to the smell.
Fourth, there were noises throughout the night and morning, and we stayed for 2 nights. Couldn't sleep well at all. You would expect that the private rooms would be a little separate from the dorm area, but no, they have the private rooms right next to the dorms and people keep making noises throughout the night. Then, the cleaning staff will start cleaning the floor at 6 am. Which is generally not a problem, but considering the whole building is wooden, and made of thin walls and floors, the whole room starts shaking and making creaking noises if someone even walks or passes by, let alone cleaning. You can even hear someone flushing the toilet. Then there is noise from the street.
Why would you have private rooms with a good nightly charge when you can't even promise your guests the comforts of a private room? The private rooms only give you privacy, but offer zero comforts.
I am highly disappointed with the rooms and would not recommend anyone to take a private room and pay that kind of money.

If you are a beach person, stay here. The 3-piece bathrooms downstairs are nice, too. The kitchen is well-maintained and the water dispenser has cold, warm, and hot water. Room and bed are comfy. It’s 5 minutes walk to two supermarkets - which is great!
The restaurant prices are more expensive than the US or Canada. Goodness, it’ shocked me! The food I ordered on my first meal was 80% more than the one I had downtown - same food. Also, the sodas outside the hostel are overpriced. So, while the hostel is beachfront, the restaurants nearby have exaggerated prices.
They should put up a coin-operated laundry machines.

Super friendly staff and literally two steps away from the beach. Very good cleanliness and well equipped kitchen.
Wifi coverage: in the room and kitchen areas signal is poor. But not a big deal when enjoying the beach life of Costa Rica

I loved how caring and kind the staff were to me, they made my stay comfortable and even when I upgraded my room they did it with ease and professionalism. It was easy to just stay at the hostel and not even explore since I loved the location so much. I will love to be back in the future if time permits. The bartender is amazing, and the staff are so kind and caring. Love you guys!
I wish that there were more activities daily at the hostel that was accessible to guests. The restaurant was pricey, but still delicious food.

Hostel located just at the beach which makes you really feel like you are living on the beach. Great personel, everything was going smooth. Hostel has also bikes for rent. Kitchen was big enough for all the people staying at this time. Place was being cleaned every day, also bed was very comfy and spacious :)

It was just a unique amazing place, rustic, chill, type of awesome glamping, perfect combo experience of nature and comfort . They are true to what they promise, great AC, blackout curtains, nice sheets, great bathroom, real great shower power with great warm water. Location was perfect, also super safe, staff was great too, definitely coming back!

It's a very nice place, with everything you'd expect from a hostel, set in a beach and jungle context, just look around and you'll see monkeys, capybaras, blue crabs, etc.
However, despite having a very interesting bar, it closes early and seems rather quiet.
The housekeepers make an effort to keep the place clean and tidy, but there are guests who only think of themselves and leave the kitchen in disarray - despite the fact that there are several notices stating that dishes should be washed immediately after use and that there is CCTV, with a fine of USD 10 for offenders. The hostel's management fails in this respect, because it seems to care less about this than about people who smoke in public open spaces. For me, and I'm sure for most people, it bothers me more not to have space at the sink to wash my own dishes than the smoke from a cigarette in an outdoor area.
Other than that, the experience was very positive - there is room for improvement, but it was a good stay in a good hostel. A bit expensive, but considering the location and the general prices in CR, it’s understandable.

Right on the beach basically, the kitchen was absolutely amazing. Loads of different pots and pans, loads of space to cook and fridge space to store your food. The beds all had curtains which is always nice to have a little more privacy. The showers were pretty comfortable and most of them you could choose your temperature.
The room I was in did not have AC and only had a fan. Also with it being so close to the beach, everything was always a little damp. The whole place and the bathrooms had a faint smell of mold being present. The showers and the bathrooms were outside and shared between 3 mixed dorm rooms. They somewhat had gendered toilets and showers but mostly it was go were you please.
