Superb staff.. They took me in like family! The lady who got me checked in was so nice and gracious!
The cottages are lovely. Very comfortable and nicely decorated. I loved the thought and care that went into fitting these cottages for a stay in a place teeming with plants, animals, and bugs.
A walk with their gardener is an absolute must! Aureliano is such a warm, friendly man and he takes great pains to introduce you to the flora and fauna around.
If you visit, stay for at least 2 nights to really enjoy the space! A night's stay isn't adequate.
Definitely need a vehicle if you're staying here. If you're a solo traveler, at least consider renting a motorcycle first. The lodge is a bit of a walk away from the main road. No cafes or restaurants within walking distance. Also, be careful when walking in the areas at night. Lots of bugs and critters.
But if you have a vehicle, you'd greatly enjoy staying here and connecting with nature, far from the noises in the center of Puerto Viejo.
I would have enjoyed an option for breakfast. The cottages have kitchens that are spacious and well equipped. But if your stay is short, you're unlikely to get groceries and cook all of your meals. So a breakfast option would have been nice.

Close to the beach. Great location. Fresh towels everyday. Amenities were a plus. Relaxing ambiance. Friendly staff.
Bed was a bit uncomfortable for me but overall, cozy bedroom.

The property was beautiful. The people that own it are very friendly and will give you lots of good advice on the area, what to do, where to go, etc. There was linen refresh everyday, cleaning the property while we were out and even offered free laundry services. The location is great. Close to playa cocles and restaurants and several minutes from the town and other amazing beaches easily accessible by Uber, bike or bus. There are 2 grocery stores right around the corner. Kitchen in the property has everything you need.
Only downside was it was an open concept property so no air conditioner. The humidity at night sometimes made it hard to sleep. But they do everything to help (fans, mosquito nets, mosquito wall plugs).

The owner and the staff went out of their way to ensure we had a wonderful stay. They provided a jungle tour pointing out sloths, snakes, spiders, etc…. Plus, provided information on where to eat, what to do, what to see, etc..

The gardens and surrounding jungle were beautiful. The location was close to everything. Super unique place to stay surrounded by jungle noises - monkeys, sloths, agouti, toucans, turtles, poison dart frogs and so many butterflies!! Great wifi, lots of plugs/outlets, private and they cleaned every day.
It is quite rustic and you need to be comfortable with bugs and dampness as you are basically living outdoors.

These cottages are set in a beautiful jungle garden and have everything you need for a superb vacation at the Carribean coast. Loved the gardener who walked by our cottage every time there was an animal to spot. Near the beaches, restaurants and supermarkets - I’d definitely book here again!

This was the most beautiful accommodation we had in Costa Rica. A great villa in the middle of an enchanting garden. Plenty of space, a great kitchen and a super terrace. Every day we woke up to the sound of birds singing. And when we were preparing breakfast, we could watch the hummingbirds from the kitchen window. Highly recommended!

This is a truly fabulous and relaxing place in the middle of nature. You can spot animals all around the cabins. Very close to the beach

Beautiful comfortable wooden lodge with a large verandah, table and chairs, just great to sit out in a lush quiet jungle environment and enjoy being surrounded by wildlife and jungle noises.
There was nothing to dislike, except maybe a hairdryer would have been useful.

Set in the garden but felt like we were right in the jungle. Sloths and iguanas in the trees! We were looked after really well, the lodge was cleaned daily with fresh towels. The owner was very helpful and everyone friendly.
Make sure you have insect repellent if you walk in the garden.
