Exceptional
Perfect location in primary forest, with many colourful birds, sloths in the trees right beside my deck, and the haunting sound of howler monkeys every night!
Irina, the owner, made me feel very welcome and was generous in sharing her enthusiasm for the wildlife.
The beach, good restaurants, and supermarkets were within easy walking distance.

The location was off the main drag just far enough into the jungle to see and hear all the animals right off of our deck but within easy reach of supermarkets restaurants and beach. We saw sloths, lizards, heard monkeys and some type of wild cat, it was such a neat experience.

Wonderful
The property is in the middle of the jungle surrounded by wildlife and nature. I loved waking up to the sounds of the forest and seeing a sloth right outside our room. The wifi was great and it was a leisurely 15-20 minute walk to the main road and the beach.
The only surprise was that from the pictures it looked like there was a communal kitchen, so we brought items to make food. However, this is not the case. They provide a nice breakfast, but the kitchen is not for guest use.

Away from the crowds in an isolated Jungle. Sloths, monkeys and other animals are around. It’s best to have your own car, but you can walk 10 minutes to two supermarkets, and a bit further to a place that will rent a bike. The rooms are very simple, but fine. The tap water is drinkable
Breakfast was overpriced at $8. I feel like they should have bikes to rent. Be aware there’s no TV and the WiFi does not work in the bungalow. You stay here to experience the sounds of the jungle.

This place it's like a piece of heaven, in just a few hours from the arrival we spotted so many animal. Our cabin was next to the water and during our stay we have seen: toucan, agoutis, squirrels, coatis, otters, a tarantula( we think) a green basilisk, turtles, green iguanas, honey bear(kinkajous)and hummingbirds.
The host was very kind to point out animals that were around, like the toucan, kinkajous and the iguanas.
A better mattress. Was not the worst and it was not a big deal, it was totally worth it. The accommodation it's in the jungle so you will need a car to reach it. If you are bothered by the noise of the wild livings then maybe this is not the place for you, personally I loved it! We would wake up at 5 and watch the jungle waking up, brilliant!

Amazing place in the middle of the jungle, you wake up in the morning with all the sounds of the animals, plenty of toucans, racoons and we had a lovely a lovely sloth climbing a tree just in front of our place.
The owner is very nice and helpful

The bungalow is lovely
There's no drinking water in the property and this was not communicated prior to arriving. It can be really dangerous and we were upset that after taking a shower, we still felt dirty. One of my piercings got infected, so definitely beware if you have piercings, this is not the place for you.

Wonderful
Beautiful place immersed in the tropical jungle. Great hosts as well. My only suggestion is a water filter dispenser in a common area for people to get potable water. Other than that amazing!

the property is surrounded by the forest and you get to see lots of animals and plants. we watched a sloth really close to our veranda. the accommodation itself is very basic but has most of the essentials and comfortable. you can get breakfast at the property at $8pp and it’s basic (toast, jam, eggs, fruit and coffee/tea) but really nice.
there was no drinking water available but the owner did give us some on request. There is no kettle in the room either, but was also given to us on request.

Poor
Convenient to town. Hearing the monkeys in the morning.
There is no potable water. That means you can't drink the water out of the tap or brush your teeth with it. I have no idea what the water contains that would make it not potable. If you stay here, bring your water bottles with you.
Second, the smell of mildew is very prevalent. See pictures attached and you will know why. A gallon of bleach would make a big improvement here. Walls, furniture have mildew.
The bathroom toilet and sink could use a good deep clean.

This was such a special place to stay. It is ten minutes’ drive from the vibrant town of puerto viejo but you feel like you are in the middle of the jungle. The hosts were very friendly and happy to show us the many animals that live around them including sloths, tree frogs and raccoons.

Great secluded lodge in the jungle Very friendly hosts who gave us lots of great hints for animal watching and the highlights of the region. The nice wooden chalet was very comfortable. The shower was amazing: never had the option of showering cold and warm in the jungle before- awesome! We could hear howler monkeys in the morning and saw tucans and monkeys as well. If you get up early in the morning this spot is almost better for animal spotting than the national parks. The breakfast was also great: some fruit and bread with jelly as well as eggs, coffee and orange juice.
If you are without your own car and carry luggage with you it’s a must to take a tuc tuc or a taxi or a bike to get to the lodge.
