The location & amenities were great. View from the patio was good. Beds were reasonably comfortable & the bedding was great.
I would have given a near perfect score if not for the poor luggage storage & room door that would not lock. The bag storage is cute, but effectively a set of drawers that's only adequate for important bag contents. 25% had broken latches & would not lock.
Also, the only place to comfortably fill a water bottle was the kitchen sink, which was in use by the cook throughout the breakfast period. This doesn't seem reasonable.
No lights in the bed area.

Distance to La Candelaria, and it is surrounded by good cafés and restaurants
The bathroom is dirty, and the seats in the lounge seemed like not being cleaned. The upper bunk beds are way too high and using the ladder is quite hard and uncomfortable

There’s a nice garden
Wouldn’t stay here again, I’m sure it has its nice moments. I’m sure there are nice staff sometimes. There are probably nice parties and sure the place has a pretty garden.
But from the moment I walked in here, it started off on a bad foot. I walked up to the front desk to greet them and introduce myself, was rudely told to back away because there were other guests. Okay, no problem, I go and sit down. They have a really long check in process I guess because I waited another 20 mins. When I first started, I told them I didn’t have any questions, don’t worry about giving me the speech. After signing all the documents, I asked what the room number was and was told “I’m getting there!!” Once again, very rude. I was very polite in response and told them good night. Took a shower, went to sleep.
The next morning I was woken up, told I had to check out. So I packed all of my stuff in ten minutes and took it out of the room. My shoes that I had placed outside the door had been moved so, I asked the staff if they’d seen my shoes. She starts panicking looking everywhere (lost and found, making phone calls, etc). Someone had moved them to a different room. She yelled at me and told me “you have to look!!” Now I had a really good attitude all up until this point, and said “where was I to look? You have had a really bad attitude since the moment I got here!” Tell me, booking.com review reader, where was I supposed to look if even she didn’t know where to look. Someone ELSE moved my stuff and I was being polite by leaving my shoes outside the door at night as to not make the dormitory smell like day worn shoes as one does. Anyways, that’s my story. Was here for 12 hours and didn’t like it one bit.
Remember ladies, this is hospitality. A little attitude adjustment would do you well and take you far. This sure as heck ain’t no five star hotel for y’all to be actin’ like you’re queens in a castle and I’m at the front gate begging for bread.

Great people, yoga in the morning, salsa lesson, good vibes.
They started painting the room next door overnight (??) which made our room smell very strongly like petrol. They moved us to another room though for our last night which was a huge relief.

We loved this hostal. Diana and all the staff were friendly and helpful and Diana gave us some great tips for getting around and where to go. The terrace is lovely and there are a couple of great cafes and restaurants very nearby. The location is really great, it is a short walk straight down the hill to the Plaza Bolivar and museums, shops, bars etc. We did the Bike tour which was an excellent way to get to know the city and climbing Monteserate is also recommended. We took part in Salsa and Yoga classes. Carlos, the yoga teacher, is a great teacher. We are 57 and 60 years old so slightly older travellers than your usual hostal crew but we felt right at home and the bedrooms are really comfortable.

The staff was really friendly and there was a good atmosphere between the travelers.
The accomodation was horrible and dirty. If you choose this place I think it’s better to share the room with other people. The common areas were clean. Our private room instead was a disaster. It was really cold ( I guess super hot during summer),it’s not 100% closed, while I was in the toilet a cockroach has just fallen into the shower.
When we arrived all bed sheets were dirty we had to ask the staff to change them. The bathroom was full of hairs. Thank God we stayed only for one night. Obviously we didn’t sleep almost anything. We both slept in trousers and jackets and we still felt cold as outside ( and basically inside as well) there were 2-5 degrees.

The place to stay in Bogota’! It’s been a real big pleasure for me as it was my first step in Colombia as a solo traveller! The location is perfect, dormitory too and you also can have a very good breakfast there! All the plants the fornitures and the atmosphere great too!
