This hotel was very friendly and very centrally located. Really enjoyed the size of the rooms, and the staff was really great. The breakfast also seemed decent. I will defineltly stay here again next time I'm in Shanghai

I loved everything about Donghu Hotel. The room was exceptionally spacious, clean, had a beautiful decor and view ( we got a garden view). We went there during a cooler season so small details like having a heated smart toilet bidet made a huge difference in coziness. Fixtures worked perfectly and the huge bathtub was amazing to soak in.
Everything was just perfect. Highly, highly recommend it.

The location of this hotel is perfect, in the center of town, next to the French concession and very well served by subway stations. The hotel has a classic look, but all facilities are in excellent modern conditions. The rooms are vary spacious with all that is needed.
The fitness center and the swimming pool are not located in the hotel. One needs to walk down the street to a different location to access them.

I smell cigarettes in the hallway around 3:00pm but it didn’t last long. Smell would go away in about 30 mins.

We honestly thought this was going to be an "old" hotel (Which i mean, it is!) But this hotel is super luxurious with this 1930s gangster vibe, especially in the entry! Was the best stay in our entire month in China! Bed and pillows were amazing- in fact, the entire room was incredible.

The location is amazing, you’re on the center but it’s very calm and silent which is great. The building is also very beautiful and the staff is very nice and helpful. The room is big and the bed is very comfortable. The bathroom was big as well and the hair dryer was very good.

We had a great stay at Donghu. The hotel had a lot of charm, everything was clean. We had fresh water, tea and coffe everyday. We booked the business room which was spacious enough for us to stay 5 nights. The location is close to a lot of cute shops and restaurants. The metro is about a 15 min walk. I recommend to prepare some phrases in Chinese, as most of the staff doesn’t speak English. However we never had any issues, as they were very helpful.

I got confused with the light switch in the room, there were only one caffeinated coffee pods for the coffee machine. Luckily my husband doesn’t drink coffee !

Great location for a tourist. The hotel also had great charm and character, with all the modern finishes whilst still feeling steeped in history. The staff were lovely too and room was very comfortable.
