It was a bit uncomfortable because of the current situation so I only stayed 1 night. They checked my temperature every time I came in and out. The place is very good under normal situations.

Cosy and clean room. The receptionist spoke good English. We had our breakfast upgraded and had a fancy buffet breakfast at the New World Hotel just next to the Pentahotel. Great location - close to the metro station.

The hotel is located right after the metro and takes only few minutes to a lot of restaurant and convenitent stores. The facility is generally as expected with seperated toilet and shower.
Facility is a bit old.

Breakfast was decent. The selection was limited but it was pretty well done.
The location is not the best but he subway is very near and this makes a bif difference.

Location is great, staff was helpful and polite, the price is pretty good compared to almost any other option in central location in Shanghai.
Breakfast is pretty poor, at least for western people, but this is a general problem in China...
The first room I got was extremely noisy due to construction work nearby which was active 24 hours. After 2 night they agreed to move me to another room in the opposite side which was much better but still not as quiet as I wish.

Great location. Close to metro station. Happy hour in the bar offered 2 for 1 on select wines and cocktails. Loved that.
I had a bit of trouble communicating with staff but I experienced that in every hotel in China.

Prices for a beer in the hotel are extortionate. 58RMB (6GBP) for a Tsingtao... even with Happy Hour, it's still on the pricey side.

The bed was big and comfortable
Bathroom requires updating, mould is growing around the bath tub and there is rust on the curtain rail. There was also someone elses hair in the bath tub throughout my 4 night stay, I would clean them away, yet they would re-appear after the room was cleaned. The room would also do with a paint, especially where the luggage rack is located. I was also woken most mornings by noisy quests.
