It’s very cozy. I stayed for nine days. Couldn’t believe how good it was. Workers were super friendly and the whole atmosphere was awesome. If I ever go back to Chengdu. I’ll definitely stay there again.

This place has such a good atmosphere and offerings (tours, community nights, free live music) that is unbeatable! I loved that I could go downstairs at any time for a drink and end up playing cards with people. 10m walk to a train station and private beds and bathrooms make it great. I would love to come here during spring when it’s more full :)

Good location. Amy was very friendly and helpful. Cute kitten in the property.
Room was not clean. Stains on bed sheets and in bathroom. Arrived finding a wet towel on top of the clean towels and the cleaner unlocked the door via the keypad without knocking, although probably wasn't aware I just checked in a few minutes prior. No additional locks from the inside to prevent this from happening.

The location is great. The room was clean, and the beds were comfortable. The internet and heating were both satisfactory.
When we arrived at dawn, even though they claim to have a 24-hour reception, the receptionist on duty was asleep with her headset on. We tried calling out to her, but she couldn’t hear anything, so my last resort was to tap her on the shoulder, which I found very awkward. Other than that, everything was good.

I came to Sonderia for a few nights and ended up staying for two weeks (with a short trip to Jiuzhaigou National Park). The staff is very friendly, attentive, and helpful, and there are included social activities to meet other travelers, such as hot pot or a mahjong class. There are also a number of tours offered through reception. I booked a giant panda and a red panda "keeper" experience, which were the highlights of my trip :)
The downstairs area offers tasty food and becomes a bar in the evening with nightly music and a cool vibe. Nearby are a number of restaurants and shops (even a Walmart and cheap fruit trucks) and a pretty river view with colorful lights at night (at least in November & December). Within walking distance to the metro. I had a spacious private room with private bathroom. Chengdu is a wonderful, laidback, and affordable city, and Sonderia was a great home base. I highly recommend!

I have made it a focus to visit this hostel everytime I’ve been to China! I’ve been a total of 4 times now, the vibe the energy and the fun is always high, Nicole (the front desk girl) is very friendly and kind plus very cool. Highly recommend this hostel to stay!

No doubts the staff is the highlight. They were attentive and super nice throughout my stay.
They have a bar area, which is quite spacious and cool, and they also do some events (I could not participate in any of them, because I was there over the weekend), but they seem pretty nice.

Easy check in process with helpful staff. The ground floor bar is inviting and you can fill your water, take advantage of their happy hour and morning coffees.
We weren’t there at the right time for any of the activities they host but it’s great to see that you can opt into group settings. They can help you with booking tours and excursions.
The room is larger than the photos and we had a really comfortable stay. We liked that we could walk to many popular metro stations and close to some popular restaurants like MingTing.

A nice hostel-hotel with a well-known live music bar on the ground floor.
But the real highlight of this place is the manager, Daimon. At one point I felt a bit of discomfort, but he handled everything professionally and did his best to make up for it. He’s really knowledgeable and always willing to help. Special thanks also to Nicole!
