Nice location to visit Tsinghua, with the added value of having the old summer palace at walkable distance. Nice breakfast.
The room is in urgent need of renovation, doors and bathroom are visibly damaged, the bedding was clean but damaged with holes, the room had a temperature of 29°C at the end of April with air conditioning in service only from mid May (staff was helpful and provided a fan, but the only solution is to keep the curtain closed during the day to avoid the soutthfacing large window to heat the indoor space). Definitely not what is expected for the high price.

The cleaning staff was excellent.
Some of the front desk staff do not show professionalism for the hotel service and lack basic knowledge to communicate properly with the customer. They did not know the directions and answered simply "I am new and I do not know". The way to connect to wifi was not communicated properly when I checked in until the day before I left. The initial method told by the staff was not efficient and was easily interrupted to an extend that I could not connect at all. At this point, I complained to the front desk and a staff member came to my room to show me a way to connect which is very different from what I was told when I checked in. This is essential and they should have a right way to tell the customers for such a basic need. The staff needs to be trained better and more professional.

The breakfast is fantastic for oriental people. For occidental ones, more types of bread should be available. The room is so big with a very large bathroom. The hotel is convenient for people who are participating in the events at Tsinghua University because it is very near the main gate of the university.
The hotel is good, but for five stars, some improvements should be performed. Some furniture is broken in the room. The internet wifi is terrible, and when it works, the VPN is automatically blocked. Is is necessary to have a 5G mobile data package.
