The hotel is very nice, clean, comfortable and well located. All the staff was nice and helpful, we felt very welcome there. The breakfast buffet is amazing with a lot of Chinese cuisine choices, which is very enjoyable. The room was comfortable and clean.the area is as Chinese as it gets, in a hutong, close to lama temple and ghost street. We recommend it!

The staff was extremely friendly, the location was great and the breakfast was superb, really worth it in case you’re considering getting it. Highly recommend the stay hers, the hotel is super pretty, you get free coffee and local snacks all the time and the location is in the main neighborhood in Beijing.

The property rated 5 star but in fact it is 1 star hotel. So it was a fake description in booking. Location is in very bad place. Old and tight roads. Not recommended at all

I studied architecture at Tsinghua University. So when I discovered this hotel was designed by Liang Si Cheng 梁思成，it is a no brainer. If you would like to experience a piece of Chinese architecture, stay here. The roof, the brick, the characters. I also saw Liang’s hand drawing of the most ancient Chinese buildings displayed here as well as its building model. Besides its Chinese architecture characters, fantastic locations to so many restaurants in 簋街，railway station, also within a Hutong cultural precinct, within the second ring road, easy access to Forbidden city, Beihai park, etc. Nina at the reception is also excellent. I ended up staying 15 nights with my wife and children here.

Free water and drinks. Welcome fruit tray and berry juice in your room. Rooms are very small but mighty. Every floor has a lounge area to relax, free water, soft drinks, and snacks.
I regret doing the dress up and photography service linked to the hotel. They took us to a very crowded location for pictures, while the photographer did not do a good job with the pictures.

The SSAW Garden was a great place to use as a base for exploring Beijing. The staff was excellent and was always willing to help. They knew a little English, not a lot, but Google translate works well. The rooms look small online, and they are relatively small, but I actually liked the room. It is fully automated which made everything easy. The heated toilet seat was also nice. There are many restaurants within walking distance. The restaurant in the hotel is excellent, but expensive. We loved the restaurant on the corner closest to the hotel at the end of the alley. The breakfast was good, not great. We liked the French toast. I would strongly recommend this hotel.

Wonderful
The hotel was well decorated in a modern contemporary Chinese style. The front staff were helpful, though some of them did not speak the language, it wasn't only a minor problem. The room, though not that spacious, was well designed and well-equipped. It was very clean and new. Breakfast was great too.
Perhaps, bilingual staff at the front could have made it 10 out of 10.

The room was neat and clean. The hotel itself was so pretty outside as well as their interior. All their staffs very helpful and attentive. My room was very hot on the first night(with no window), requested to change the room the next day. They gave me bigger room with window so I can open during nighttime(it was winter and the AC mode fixed on heater mode only)
The air conditioning unit system cannot be adjusted its mode as I wish. I was sweating on the first night, tried to adjust the mode to cold but system cannot be override.
