A little “hideout” place perfectly located in the center of the most happening area in Beijing. Offers a very different experience from the typical hotel suites. A chance to blend in with the locals, explore the hidden jewels (I.e. Puzzle, Beef noodles house nearby), and play with the hotel cats. Breakfast and coffee lovers are in luck, food is delicious.
Room is a bit small but very compact. Nothing unexpected.

We had a really wonderful stay at the Orchid. The hotel is beautiful - a stylishly restored courtyard house. What really made the stay special was 1) the incredibly helpful staff who were always there to assist with booking attractions and travel and to advise on how to get the most out of Beijing; and 2) the hotel's location in the quiet hutongs near the Drum tower, within walking distance of the Shichahai lakes, with lots of restaurants and shops nearby. Both the Western and Chinese breakfast options were excellent, and we really appreciated little touches like the welcome tea, the map with (excellent!) recommendations for restaurants nearby which was very useful, and the little gift on check out. We hope to visit Beijing again and would definitely stay at the Orchid.

Amazing little hotel near the drum and bell tower. The stuff where more than amazing, all of them. They even teach me how to play Mahjong. If I ever come back I will definitely return here.

Loved the location in the old part of Beijing. This was a very different experience from being in a modern high rise hotel that one could experience in any large city. Walking through the narrow streets and alleyways was a walk back into history but also showed a way of life for the residents who live there today. The Orchid has upgraded it’s accommodations for guests while still retaining the feel of being in the hutong. The staff was personable, welcoming and very accommodating. Thank you to all! I loved my stay at The Orchid and hope to return!

What a gem of a place! My mom and I absolutely LOVED our stay here! Lovely staff, lovely rooms. The girls at the reception were super helpful and helped us book restaurants, cabs. Easy to communicate with, soo friendly and accommodating! The food was so delicious, we throughly enjoyed our breakfasts, the bakery AND HAD AN AMAZING TIME when they organized a special tea ceremony for us ❤️ Ahhh, thank you thank you thank you! We had a wonderful time staying here, you won’t regret it!

A delightful, slightly quirky boutique hotel in the Old Town hutong area. I chose it because it was very well reviewed, and I wasn't disappointed. The rooms are accessed in different ways, some up the stairs, others across the road in a linked alleyway! Everything was very comfortable and easy. The bar (with rooftop option) and an adjoining restaurant were great quality. The enclosed rooftop breakfast room was delightful too. The icing on the cake was the kind and friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble. This is one of the most enjoyable hotel stays I've ever had.

I recently stayed at The Orchid Hotel in Beijing and had a fantastic experience. What stood out most was the delicious food —every meal was thoughtfully prepared and offered a great mix of local and international flavors. The staff made a huge difference; everyone I interacted with was friendly, attentive, and eager to help, which made me feel genuinely welcomed throughout my stay. Special call out to Jihan for an amazing tea demonstration. The location was perfect, placing me within easy reach of some of Beijing’s best sights and vibrant neighborhoods. Overall, The Orchid Hotel offered a wonderful mix of excellent service, memorable dining, and convenience. I would gladly recommend it to anyone visiting Beijing.
The only small and personal consideration is that the beds are soft which isn’t my preference. Otherwise a wonderful stay.

The food at Toast was amazing. The Bake (bakery) is also great with excellent chocolate chip cookies!
The location is nice and had lots of options for us to find something to eat and buy as souvenirs to bring home.
The room was very cute and comfy. Fruits given each day.
Extremely helpful and kind staff, helped us on where and how to go to see places. Jie Han was the best :)
Overall, hospitality was a solid 10.
The air conditioner was not strong enough to cool the upper part of the room where the bed was — since it's a little bit isolated from the downstairs. But we received a fan that we could use upstairs and it was great.

I can't recommend this place enough. The staff was extremely accommodating. There were issues with the room (not all power outlets worked) but given that it was fixed promptly while we were out and that it was a room upgrade anyway, it was no deal at all. Loved the location, the vibes, the breakfast. And the bar!
