The Orchid is not only tastefully and intimately decorated, but also the staff are the picture of politeness, professionalism, and consideration. I had fond memories of eating brunch at the hotel as a student in Beijing, and I was glad to be back. The hotels cozy location is top notch for exploring the hutong alleys of Beijing.

The accommodation was very comfortable and stylish. The bed was incredibly comfortable, fresh fruit was supplied as well as filtered water, the room was air-conditioned. The staff were very attentive and helpful. The breakfast was delicious. The location was fabulous. A very enjoyable stay.
I couldn't get free to air tv (CCTV) in one of the rooms I stayed despite best efforts of the staff, but could access movies online.

The rooftop view was good, but the beautiful patio chairs are only accessible to specific room, not as suggested by receptionist that we can go there and chill out there. The bedding is quite comfortable.
The location is good for walkers with light backpacks. We took a taxi there and found the entrance is in a deep and narrow alley. Another taxi driver was reluctant to pick us up because the alley was narrow and shown as a jammed area in the navigator.

- Two options for breakfast. Western and Traditional Chinese. Both tasty, but the Traditional one could be a little bit earlier, - Staff was very helpful and kind, - The location was great, the small alleys were very nice and supermarket and the stores with food were like 5 minutes from the hotel, - The subway was few minutes away, - The garden was very nice - Cats
- The terrace above the room was useless because it was too hot to spend time there and when it was raining then everything on this terrace was wet, - The view from the terrace nothing special, - The lock was broken so we had to use the padlock

Yes, yes... all the good things said about the Orchid Hotel in other reviews are accurate: clean, cute, well located, and the pleasant and helpful staff. As to the negative things... well, it is a collection of renovated hutong buildings so there'll be some unexpected ones, but those are just a part of the overall experience. Super hotel to stay at when in Beijing.

Incredible breakfast and welcoming staff, really helpfull and glad to go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and supported.
