We loved the staff of this hotel they were always ready to warmly help us with any questions we had. The included breakfast was delicious & they did laundry for us which was very nice to have during the trip.
There was a small amount of noise you could hear from the rooms but they did provide ear plugs and it was not anything major.

The place was clean and in a very good location. Staff were not only professional but genuinely warm and welcoming, often engaging my children and very attentive to their needs. Very good breakfast spread and love the snacks/ fruits served when we return to the hotel in the evening. Oh and the laundry service, what a lifesaver for families with kids. Really enjoyed our stay there. 10/10!

Everything was great during our stay. First of all we want to highlight the service from everyone at the hotel, super friendly and always offering their help and always with a smile :) breakfast was great!! Beds were very comfortable, we really enjoyed our stay!!

Wonderfully located in a hutong, allowing for a more mellow experience of Bejing and one that can harken back to a China from the past. Has a great roof, around plenty of great restaurants, and has an excellent and friendly staff!

We had an awesome stay. Elsa, Nancy, Harrison and the whole team were so welcoming and friendly. Everyone spoke at least some English and wanted to help us with our day trips and bookings. Harrison even got us gifts and is shipping them to our hotel in Shanghai. The neighborhood is great, ancient buildings with a lot of restaurants and bars. We really enjoyed our stay and hope one day to return to the Hutong in Beijing. Local beer provided every night was a lovely treat. The TV system was great too. Super cool experience to stay here. Highly recommend for anyone looking to experience Beijing culture and make friends with the locals.
Bathroom fan rattled a bit. Breakfast could of had a bit more variety. On the pricey side for Chinese accomodations.

Beautifully renovated property smack in the middle of a gorgeous historical area of Beijing, with so many different hutongs around to explore! The room has state of the art technology, with an AI controller for lights, music, etc, a giant projector as a TV, and very fun smart toilets that I deeply miss. But above all, service is incredible. We were completely jet lagged and missed breakfast a couple of days, and they still made us a delicious breakfast upon waking up, and made sure we were fed and happy (the food was beyond delicious ?). They helped guide or advise us everytime we needed it, they took us to the gorgeous terrace to watch the sunset and have tea even though it was windy and chilly, and on the last day, Elsa took our luggage with us to the cab and waved goodbye. Thank you all for such an amazing experience and see you soon!

We loved the staff because they were exceedingly helpful with just about anything. Internet in Beijing is tricky and it is difficult to get around if you don’t read Chinese, but the hotel staff were great about providing directions we could follow, helping with taxi drivers, helping us find restaurants, etc. The hotel keeps in touch with everyone on WeChat (which starts from the time you reserve your room, and I found that helpful, because the advice given was very helpful and made things easier for us when I arrived). The staff proved to be very responsive to WeChat and helpful and funny too. Our favorite person at the hotel was the manager—rarely have I met a young man so industrious, smart, helpful, positive, kind and helpful. We are so appreciative of all his efforts to make sure we had a great stay despite my feeling a bit under the weather. We also loved our room—it was super clean, the bed was really comfortable, the rain shower was incredible, the decorating was very pretty, and the rooftop terrace was a nice place to relax and enjoy a cold drink. Breakfast was very good, something for all tastes and some nice coffee and tea choices. The hotel’s location is very near the Lama Temple, one of our favorite places we visited, and the neighborhood is lively with many restaurants and shops to enjoy. We went on a day trip to the Great Wall arranged by the hotel and it was well priced and organized—highly recommended— and we also took the dumpling class which turned out to be great fun and we enjoyed eating our dumplings with other delicious foods that the chef had prepared for us. That was my favorite meal in China. The hotel understands what Westerners need to have a great visit to Beijing, and they do everything they can to make sure everything goes smoothly and that you get whatever you need to have a great visit to Beijing. And honestly, that is worth a lot. This place is a 10 in every category.

The hotel is located in a great location - more local, close to several metro lines, the Lama Temple and areas you can have a stroll. All the staff were excellent (Thank you Elsa for running to get us). Their afternoon tea is amazing.
The hotel left us with ear plugs (thank you!) so it is not a big issue but you can hear the next room on the upper floor.

Excellent communication and very helpful staff. Location is great. Great facility: shower, bed especially. Nicely renovated typical Beijing Hutong ziheyuan. Location is very good as well.
Not too big issues but something to improve in the future. Sound prove can be better as you can hear the water when next room is using ( could be something to do with old house) and breakfast can be little bit more variety.

The Happy Dragon Hotel is a true gem in the heart of Beijing. Its location is fantastic — quite literally just around the corner from the Lama Temple, which is an absolute must-see when visiting the city. Amidst the energy and bustle of Beijing, the Happy Dragon offers a retreat and a treat, a peaceful haven to return to each evening after a day of exploring.
What truly sets this hotel apart is the staff. Every single member of the team speaks English and shows a level of kindness, thoughtfulness, and genuine care that we haven't encountered anywhere else. They are always ready to help, whether it’s assisting with setting up WeChat, Alipay, or advising on the best way to navigate the city — and they often go far beyond what is expected.
The rooms are exquisite, with every detail carefully thought out. Everything is automated for convenience, and the beds are exceptionally comfortable, complete with memory foam pillows and linen changed daily. It really is the perfect blend of luxury and comfort.
Breakfasts are plentiful and varied, offering a great start to the day. In the evenings, the thoughtful touches continue, with bowls of fresh fruit and refreshing fruit drinks often waiting at your door or offered as you come through reception.
I couldn't recommend the Happy Dragon Hotel more highly — wonderful in every way.

The room was really modern, nicely renovated. Location was perfect, just a short walk to the metro station and the Airport Express Station.
Although it was very modern and the bathroom was equipped with a Japanese- style toilet, the used toilet paper had to be thrown to the bin, not flushed down.

Staff were exceptionally warm and friendly 100% of the time. They went out of their way to care for us even chasing after us with rain coats and welcoming us back from our outing with hot coffee and cut up fresh fruit. Staff offered genuine advise on all matters and assisted us to navigate Alipay, WeChat and transport around the city.
Facilities are above expectation, very niche to walk down an alleyway and come upon such an amazing accommodation.

We arrived at Happy Dragon Courtyard towards the end of a three week long trip around Hong Kong and China, and were perhaps just a little weary after yet another long day of travel. It was therefore wonderful to be beckoned inside with such genuine warmth and care for our wellbeing. We were swiftly furnished with cups of tea and encouraged to rest awhile, before being introduced to our room.
The room itself was really cleverly designed, with space used intelligently, such as storage space built into the lobby area, sliding doors which revealed a television projector screen when closed, and a bathroom which managed to incorporate both a powerful shower and soaking bath without ever feeling cramped. A minibar was replenished with soft drinks daily, and the room always felt fresh and clean after a day out. In fact, whilst not being the largest room of our trip it was undoubtedly one of the smartest and most comfortable.
Breakfasts were another highlight of our stay, with a bountiful spread including noodles and dumplings, fruit and vegetables, sausages and eggs. It was also the perfect opportunity to share with the staff our plans for the day ahead and benefit from their knowledge and experience.
This person centred approach fed through the the whole experience of staying at Happy Dragon Courtyard. Every time we returned from a day out they were keen to hear where we had been, and on one occasion we were even presented with a yogurty dessert to round off our day. On leaving day they really went above and beyond, carrying our rather weighty bags down to the main road and assisting us into our DiDi to the airport.
In short, staying at Happy Dragon Courtyard felt more like being guests of good friends rather than a typical hotel experience and I have no hesitation in recommending it to others.
