Wonderful
I particularly impressed with the room dining and the excellent service. The serving staff Venus was very efficient and polite with a lovely smile. I, in particular, liked the thoughtful presentation. Oboth was also very professional. The standard of food also exceeded my expectation, especially the beef noodle soup. On the whole, this is the best room dining service I have had so far travelling around the world in years.
The club manager, Betty served us well in the club which is very relaxing. We even played some snooker.
There are plenty of choices at breakfast - I particularly liked the Chinese pancakes and my morning coffee. Sandy serving at breakfast was very friendly.
I also loved the Olympic size swimming pool and the jacuzzi set in a very tranquil atmosphere.
It would be good to have some oat milk in the room for my coffee.

Pleasant
1. There were friendly staff everywhere inside the hotel (however the guys with the hats outside were not so friendly).
2. The Gym was ok. It used Technogym equipment. It did not have the bike where you can sit with a backrest. It had an assortment of ezcurl bars but was missing a preacher curl bench. The free weights (dumbells) were rather light. However, it did have 2 stretching machines which I had not seen in any other gym in China. (The Ritz Carlton Xi'an Gym is still my favorite hotel gym in China)
3. Jennifer Zhao of the Manor area reception was friendly and helpful. My Mandarin is not the best but I managed to communicate with her. I left my kids to play pool at the pool table area which was great.
4. The bathtub in room 902 was nice and big.
5. There were 3 separate air conditioning controls in room 902.
6. There was a charging cable provided with both type c and iphone heads as well as a charging adaptor provided.
7. The rooms were very nicely decorated with statues, vases and artwork distributed everywhere.
---------------
Now, to continue on the what I DIDN'T like section from below as there was not enough word limit.
8. The traffic outside the hotel is terrible. There are times when the traffic does not move so allow extra time when going to dinner reservations or activities.
9. The only mall for shopping nearby was 20 minutes walk and the shops there were all boring. There was nothing for kids. Crossing some of the roads to get there is very dangerous as the motorbikes in China do not follow any road rules.
10. There were limited options on the in house dining menu so we went next door to KFC. The KFC there tasted disgusting.
11. There is a nightclub on one of the floors so the foyer gets overcrowded at night as the club shares the same lift lobby as hotel guests.
12. Hotel is stingy on lotion as we only had a small tube in the bathroom to share between the family. My face was dry and skin peeling off.
1. Seating downstairs is very limited at only 4 seats. I found we (both families) had to stand half the time or sit outside in the cold when waiting for transport.
2. We had 2 rooms (901 and 902). 901 air conditioning not working so it was very hot. My kid could not stand it and moved to my room 902. The room 902 bedroom air conditioning kept making stuttering noises all night. FYI, we enjoy the cold and all hotels in China we have been to (all 5 stars) are stuffy and hot with centralised air conditioning that we cannot control.
3. The halls were also hot, dry and stuffy.
4. The Manor area on level 7 had a billiard/pool table room at the end. It was also super hot and stuffy. I dont know if that was by design to make people get out of the room.... On day 1, I got a whole bag of lays tomato chips. On day 2, they were stingy and only gave me a tiny bowl. However, they did remember what we liked to drink. It would have been great if they came and gave us refills automatically (there was literally no one else on the whole floor when we were there) instead of me having to walk 20 metres to ask.
5. The breakfast was rather limited. It is also strange that we have to get the salmon from a fridge. Again the seating area was hot and stuffy. It was fortunate that we could sit on the dining tables outside the buffet area (near the cake stand) where there was slightly better ventilation.
6. The rooms and halls and lifts were all charged with static electricity so my kids did not even want to touch the door handles. When I touched the air conditioning panels (for example), the panel would shock me and the numbers on the panel would go crazy and show 000000 222222 etc until the charges were moved.
7. Following from point above, the key cards are squares (unlike normal hotel key cards that are rectangular). This was very annoying as you would get shocked each time and drop it/hard to find.

Excellent location, luxurious decor and facilities . Great restaurants
Staff not well trained. At breakfast, there were lots of staff but I had to ask for coffee and milk a few times before someone finally brought it . Food was warm not not at the buffet table .
