Mr. Steven was the best. He was very friendly and worth every second of talking to him. Honestly all the staff were friendly but Steven was the best. Thank you again Steven.
The only problem we faced was when trying to go to the swimming pool. The staff asked us to wear swimming caps which we didn’t have unfortunately and they didn’t provide one for us, so he asked us to purchase it from the store.

The rooms are big, clean and quiet. The breakfast was amazing. The staff was very polite.
The central cooling of the A/C was turned off. So at night, with the winter blanket it was too hot. Sometimes oaround 27-29c. The window could not be fully closed (the staff took out the handles). I only read about the amenities of the hotel at the last night, because it is very difficult for the staff to communicate information in English. To be fair, this is the usual case for all hotels in China.

Overall, this hotel gives the impression of a place that used to be top-notch for China about 30 years ago, but which has fallen behind the times. It has a decent breakfast, with both Western and Chinese options. The staff are friendly.
The major problem here is that foul odors emanate from the sinks, likely due to problems with the plumbing. This is a very common problem in old buildings. During my stay, the room constantly had a faint, foul odor that I found somewhat noxious.

Hotel location is walking distance to Anli Lu metro station for Line 15. There are quite a number of restaurants in short walk. A small but good working fridge was in the room. There is an ATM machine in the lobby. Good variety of food for breakfast including Starbucks capsules for coffee.
Toilet has a glass wall which is open to the room.

This is a good option if you need a reasonably priced hotel in this area. The rooms are a good size and have what you need. It is near the line 15 subway and the academic institutes in the area. Compared with some of the other hotels it is good value. The staff were very friendly and efficient. There is some wear and tear in the rooms but nothing major. There is a working fridge. For me the problems were that I was unable to block off the light from the bathroom into the bedroom completely, and ageing carpets everywhere make it hard to wheel my luggage around. I don't understand why hotels still put carpet in corridors and make the bathroom visible to the room - I don't know anyone who likes this. There was also nowhere to sit in the lobby when I was there (the lounge was cordonned off) which is a bit odd. Overall, though, I had a good stay and would go back for short stays when I need to be in the area for work. For pleasure I would not stay in this location anyway.

Everything's so perfect. Staff is super professional and nice. The building and rooms are high-class. All the services are great - room service, restaurant, lounge, everything. You can see how well trained they are. I believe they have followed a high standard. I would say Marco Polo is a good example on each kind of services it offers. It'll be very hard for another hotel to beat Marco Polo, even world wide speaking.
