The room was clean, breakfast is good, French Restaurant is open also in the morning, it is more quiet and comfortable, less Russians (my wife is Russian but doesn't like how they behave) :-) Very comfortable bed.
I'd say that in-room dining could be improved. The burger is covered in a film on the plate when delivered, and gets moist. Also, my wife is not a fan of spicy food, could probably mark such food on the menu to avoid.

Great location not far from major shopping and historical sites. Our room was huge and ornate and the whole place was grandly styled in an over-the-top French rococo manner - lashings of marble everywhere, massive staircases, gold painted ornate flourishes on ceilings and fittings. Public areas pretty amazing, staff were helpful, and rooms very well insulated from traffic. The grandeur had faded a bit, with cracks in our walls, but the bed was comfy, the bathroom enormous, and while the place was nowhere near as fresh/modern as some other options, it was quite a bit of fun.
The breakfasts and dinners when we ate there were not what you would hope for. Some dishes were not hot, some portions from the menu were small, the range was not great. English communication with the waiters was difficult. One room service meal was just cold. I think the grandeur of the hotel, even though faded, is impressive enough to make up for the odd crack on the wall, and poor grouting in the shower, but food needs to be better. It wouldn't be hard - keep dishes hot, offer a few more options. On the plus side, though, dinners were not super expensive and did include beer and wine, which did help soothe any disappointments ... And of course there are scores of other restaurant options within easy walking distance.

The staff was generally very good. Helped with many issues and seemed genuinely concerned about making my stay nice.
The restaurant situation was horrible. Several were closed leaving only the buffet open. The buffet was dominated by "falal" food for some reason and the food that was regular food was mediocre at best.

The building and decor. Beautiful rooms , foyer and building. Breakfast was very good with a good variety. Staff where friendly and approachable.
We had dinner one evening at the Legendale with a guest and the buffet was average. Breakfast was better.

They called me at 1 m to pay for the spa without giving me a reason why i can’t put it on the room and pay the next day. They woke me up from sleep and my relaxation

There was no restaurant on the property to get a light dinner. You could get light fre for room service, but that was not sufficient.

Bathing caps are required for use of the pool. While I didn’t know or like this, they were able to lend us two caps while swimming and thereby avoiding a problem. In comparison, other hotels in China had similar requirements, but not flexible and required purchase of a bathing cap that one is unlikely to need afterwards.

The location of this hotel is fantastic just a 5-minute walk from the station and very close to the Wangfujing walking Street for fun shopping and many meal options. The hotel is comfortable has upgraded amenities and a great happy hour
For a hotel this level claiming to be five stars there are no extras. We grew accustomed to having a small plate of fruit turn down service or some sweets each day in Far lower rated hotels across Asia. This was a disappointment

Overall, our stay was amazing! The hotel was beautiful, the staff were super friendly and helpful, and everything was clean and comfortable. The only downside was that the air conditioning didn’t work properly, and the room got really hot, especially at night. If the AC issue gets fixed, it would be a perfect 5-star experience!

All around 10 out of 10 for this hotel. The room was large and beautiful. The extra bed was plenty big for my very tall 17-year old. Bedroom and bathroom were clean and felt luxurious. Staff spoke enough English and we didn't have to use the translator at all. Great location, walking distance to pedestrian street and great restaurants. Breakfast was amazing (French restaurant is better and had the most delicious pastries - you can choose where you want to have breakfast each day). Would definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel to friends and family.
There is nothing not to like about this hotel.
