The staff is amazing. Super attentive and helpful. I felt really welcomed from the very beginning. The facilities are rather old but however everyhing is clean and works fine. And the most important factor is the location which is really perfect for getting an authentic Beijing vibe. You can just step out and feel it right away :)!

The reception staff were extremely kind and helpful—they really took care of everything and were a great support throughout our stay. The hotel’s location is excellent, and the rooms are comfortable and well-maintained.
What I liked less was the breakfast, which could be more varied, and the facilities could be a bit more modern.

Great location. This is not a luxury hotel, but it has everything you need for a comfortable stay. It offers a hostel-like vibe, but without the usual drawbacks like cramped spaces or compromises in comfort.
Its greatest asset, though, is the staff. They genuinely make an effort to ensure your stay is as enjoyable as possible. During my visit, what they showed was more than simple politeness or standard hospitality - it was a sincere and active effort to make sure I would remember both Beijing and Happy Dragon Alley Hotel in the best possible light. They did far more than they had to, and I truly appreciate it. Thank you for that. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They were patient with our payment situation and gave us a useful map of the sights. The breakfast was rich, the room was clean and comfortable, and the air conditioning worked quietly and efficiently. The location is perfect, with the metro station just around the corner.

I don’t know how to begin my review for this hotel, but to put it simply: staying here was one of the best decisions we made in Beijing! I arrived at 5 AM and the receptionist welcomed me warmly; they even did their best to accommodate an early check-in so my mom and I could rest.
The staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating, even sending us fresh fruit and a handwritten postcard. They extended so much assistance to us, from providing simple directions and tips, to helping me with my delayed Taobao deliveries. They truly went beyond what was expected; it felt more like being with friends and family. There is so much more to say about the people working here, and this review space isn’t enough to express our eternal gratitude.
As for the room, it was very spacious, clean, and had everything you could need. The hotel is very generous and kind.
I highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Beijing—especially for the first time—as it is conveniently located right in the center.
The bathroom could use some updating, but it was perfectly functional. I honestly can’t say anything bad about it because the rest of the stay was so wonderful.

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The location is unbeatable—nestled in a traditional Hutong area, you can simply stroll around the alleys and truly feel the local Beijing atmosphere. It’s just steps away from the main street, which is packed with incredible food options. It was so convenient being a short walk from the Zhangzizhonglu Metro Station (Line 5), and we loved being within easy walking distance of the Lama Temple and several other major tourist spots.
The service truly stood out. The staff were incredibly accommodating and went above and beyond for our group of four. They handled our parcel deliveries perfectly, helped us order food delivery, and even rearranged our rooms so we could all stay on the same floor. They also gave us excellent local food recommendations nearby that we wouldn't have found on our own!
A special thank you to the team for packing our breakfast to-go when we had to leave at 6:30 AM for our trip to the Great Wall. It made our early start so much easier. This kind of thoughtful hospitality in such a prime location is rare. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Beijing!"

The property is conveniently located just a few min walk from the metro station and not far from the city’s main landmarks. Rooms are not too big but enough for a couple of nights stay. I stayed in 3 different rooms and it was clean in all of them. The staff is very welcoming and helping you with many things: what to see, where to go and so on. I have extended the stay in-house and had to change the room and they helped me out to move my stuff while I was outside exploring the city. A nice card with some fruits a night before my departure was a nice gesture. And I got a little panda souvenir from Anthony which was very sweet of him!
The beds could be softer, quite hard for me personally to sleep on such bedding. If you stay for more than two nights breakfast could be quite monotonous as you get the same meal every morning. Other than these two points everything else was just fine!

Extremely friendly staff, great welcome and overall support throughout our stay. And in English ??. Candice was wonderful and she was an amazing host. She even gave us a hand written welcome card, with a finishing touch in our mother tongue (Portuguese).
I strongly recommend staying at this hotel. Easy access, walking distance to metro and shops and food. The breakfast was very tasty and fulfilling (pre-prepared dish very varied with fruits, salad, eggs and some Chinese delicacies). We will definitely be back.
The room floor could be cleaner, but other than that we loved our stay.
