We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at Mutianyu Wangshanyuan homestay. It was one of the best decisions we made on our trip. We had a comfortable ride from Beijing to Mutianyu driven by Mr Yang and all arrangements to visit the Great Wall was planned. Food at the homestay was excellent, filling and delicious. The bed was really comfortable and I had a nice view of the mountains. It was a great away-from-city feel. Chatting with Mr Yang felt like we were talking to an old friend. We extended our visit to side tours of the Ming Tombs arranged by Mr Yang. Mr Yang also very kindly dropped us back at the Beijing train station despite making one additional trip to pick up our luggage. Overall a highly recommended homestay. Thank you!

Our host picked us up from the airport and also dropped off and picked us up from the Great Wall. Host was super helpful and mum's cooking was delicious. Room and bed was comfortable. Very clean.

The owner makes you feel like at home . Is very clean and accommodating . Very quiet and relaxing . If you want to go to the Great Wall is in a walking distance. They prepared delicious home made dinner and breakfast so was tasty and hassle free. They let us choose our bedroom .

Hospitality and the room.
Its a family run guesthouse, they help you buying the tickets for the great wall, they drive you up there. Dinner and breakfast was delicious, for sure chinese. They have a espresso machine, which I really appreciate

Perfect way to visit the Great Wall of China. They really looked after us, picking us up and dropping us off from the bus as well as driving us back and forth to the entrance point. They also arranged our tickets for us. Room was perfect and meals were SO good! Would really recommend this way to visit. It made it memorable and special for us.

The location was great and the hosts could not do more for you. The tickets to the wall were arranged by the host for ease and the host drops you off and picks you up from the wall for free. The bed was comfortable and the meals (dinner and breakfast) provided were delicious. The view from the rooftop patio was beautiful.

The Beijing Mutianyu Great Wall Wangshanyuan Homestay is an absolute treasure, nestled in a tranquil woodland setting. Managed by an incredibly welcoming and attentive family, my mother and I received exceptional care that made our stay unforgettable. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the lady of the house, whose culinary skills shone through the most delectable stir fry meal, providing much-needed comfort after our journey from Hong Kong. Her warmth set the tone for the homestay's hospitable atmosphere. The homestay's proximity to the Mutianyu Great Wall allowed us to enjoy a peaceful stroll through the charming village. We relished the opportunity to explore the historic grounds at our leisure, away from the typical crowds, thanks to the pre-arranged tickets and the convenience of private transport. The luxury of being chauffeured to the Great Wall in a Mercedes Benz, with prompt drop-off and pick-up service, added an element of exclusivity to our adventure. I wholeheartedly recommend this homestay to anyone planning to witness the magnificence of the Great Wall. The serene location, combined with the family's genuine hospitality, ensures a remarkable experience. We're already looking forward to our return next year.

We had a wonderful stay. The entire staff provided exceptional hospitality. The home cooked meals were authentic and delicious and the assistance we had with the purchasing of our admission tickets and transportation to and from the Great Wall were incredibly helpful. We are planning a return trip in the fall.

Superb location within the Mutianyu scenic area. The rooms were clean, spacious and quiet. Toilet and shower were great too. The best part of the stay was the warm hospitality of the hoststhey helped us organise our tickets and sent us to the Great Wall and back. The included home style dinner and breakfast were also super tasty. Wifi was strong throughout the property

Wonderful stay, I would highly recommend it if you need to get out of the city. I had a wonderful room with view on the mountains, the host picks you up whenever you need to get your from the ticket office, bring you to the Great Wall and back. Very charming family, the mother cooked us a very nice dinner. It's the perfect match, not to hurry, spend one day on the Great Wall, when everyone is leaving to get back, you are alone up there. You have a wonderful night sleep, and on the next day, you climb the hill behind the house to see the sunrise, it was very calm and peacefull.

There is too much to write here, the family that own this place are delightful. They are so, so accommodating and communicative. Before we showed up they explained the best ways to get to their accommodation, they picked us up from the bus stop and drove us to the accommodation, they allowed us to select our room as there was no on else around, they made us food during our stay (we got to choose what time to eat, both breakfast and dinner) and there was always a lot. They sorted our tickets for the Great Wall, drove us to the Great Wall and back and dropped us off at the bus station. They know enough English to cover the basics! This set us up for a wonderful, memorable time at the Great Wall that became something really special that my partner and I will always reminisce over!
There are a couple minor quality of life things, but this pales in comparison to the positives! Our room only had one big light which meant at night time (when the curtains were drawn) it was challenging to get around the space. A little bed-side lamp (battery powered or otherwise) would be perfect. Our last problem (if you can even call it that) was that we couldnt find a bath mat for the shower (there may have been one that we couldnt see; we didnt ask), the shower floor can be slippery. Its an easy, easy fix that they may already have made :)
