Big comfy room.
Staff are uniformly indifferent. One woman assumed I didn’t speak Spanish presumably because of my appearance and spoke in such broken Spanish that I thought she was a foreigner, but then she was actually Chilean. I don’t know why this woman had such a hard time believing that a person with my appearance wouldn’t speak Spanish.
Breakfast is meager. Just instant coffee. No fruit. Serving situation is ambiguous: I walked into the kitchen to grab my breakfast and then the woman working breakfast was irritated. It wasn’t clear what I was supposed to do otherwise.

The room was spacious and clean. The beds god made and toilet paper refilled every day. We got new towels once in our 3 night stay. Very comfortable beds. One of the people in the reception spoke English, and was very friendly and helpful. You could get laundry done for a good price.
It is not many restaurants or cafes close by. The location is in the middle of La Serena, but still a 10-15 min walk from anything (mall and buss station one direction, town Center with restaurants and bars another direction). Right around the hostel is nothing really. Wi-Fi is not great in the room.

Very close to La Serena and autoroute. Able to park car securely. The owner’s nephew spoke English and was incredibly welcoming and accommodating. The beds were clean and comfortable.

Really comfortable room, the place is really close to the the bus terminal in La Serena (we arrived from Huasco at night) and also near the bus stops that takes you to the airport. The shower was warm and the bathroom was really clean.
We had to buy our own toilet paper. Also they could use more knowledge about the surroundings. We asked for where to find a grocery store near the property, but they didn't know if there was something open at night. It turns out we did find a grocery store open until 22:30 a few blocks away.

Staff is great. Available to help with everything you need and even beyond. They gave us lots of tips about the city, places where to eat and to visit.
The patio area in the courtyard is great
Room could cleaner. The bedding was very old and stained so it gave the impression it was not clean. Water could be hotter. it is just about the right temperature, but when it is cold outside it would be great to have a proper hot shower.

Very central when having a stop over around the bus terminal in La Serena. Clean and good rooms.
After traveling for 35 years, this place is on my top five list when it comes to suspicion and unkindness upon arrival. Now one smiled.
What did I do wrong? I don't know. I booket in beforehand, said hello, and smiled when I arrived. Everyone just looked angry. Or looked away.
But, the woman that served breakfast was kind, smiled, and wished me a nice trip. The rest of the staff was just very unfriendly.
The place itself was nice.

Very central location in a side street, just off the main road. About 10 min walk to the central plaza and about 20 min walk to the beach. Staff is very friendly, but speak Spanish only. Nice, comfortable and clean room with a private bathroom. Breakfast is one toasted bun with meat and cheese and a bit of yoghurt. All fine, but it might not be enough for everyone.
Breakfast is not available until 8.30 which can be inconvenient if you have to get up early for a tour. Maybe something can be arranged with the staff but I did not see them around a lot and my Spanish is only basic, so I did not try.

very nice family. the father of the house accompanied me to the parking garage, both in the morning and in the evening. later that night the nephew was passing by to have a nice and informing chat with us.
the window was open at arrival, and there was no heating: cold in winter! also there the breakfast was outdoor. the street seemed quiet at arrival, but you hear the traffic all night.

Very friendly family owned hostel. We rented bikes from the hostel to go on a fun ride to Coquimbo. Room was clean and there is a commune area. Rodrigo gave us some great travel tips for Vicuna, our next stop. Super kind and helpful - walked us to the bus station as well.

The staff were so kind. We had an incident which happened, and all the staff were extremely helpful, caring and accommodating.
The room and bed were big and comfortable, very spacious, with a good, clean hot shower.
