Alexander Guesthouse is in an excellent location, and was very clean.
The rooms were very hot, and when opening the windows, the air from the alley smelled awful. I had to sleep with the window cracked and the awful smell in the room. It also felt more like a hostel than a hotel.

The location was great. The bathroom was very clean.
The size of the room for 2 people was very small. Our room basically had no window to outside and it was facing a dark patio. Sound from other rooms could completely be heard. It was not worth the price we paid. Just to mention that we booked it 3 days prior our check in.

Disappointing
It was clean, water & toiletries was provided, coffee in the morning.
The receptionist, man with the glasses working late in the evening on Jan 11 was very rude. It was 1am, and he gave me vague directions to the guesthouse, I’ve never been to Zurich and I don’t speak German, so I understand the street names he’s telling me. Even after asking for the address he said it was “simple” and that “I should be able to find it”. After walking with all my luggage around the st for 10 mins I returned and he offered to show me, which I was thankful for until he kept repeating: “I TOLD YOU that it was this way!” and “I TOLD YOU you insert the card chip first!”. I was very kind with him until this. He initially didn’t want to do his job, and once I asked for extra help he talked down to me like I’m his child or something. No way to treat a customer who just came after 8 hours of traveling. Won’t be staying here again. This is no way to treat a customer who walked in with a smile on their face.

The hotel is located right in the center, very close to everything — excellent location. The room is basic but not small, and it has everything you need. Daily housekeeping is provided. The room was quiet, comfortable, and pleasant. The fact that reception was a 2-minute walk away didn’t bother me at all. There's also a small fridge in the room. Great value for money — I would stay here again if the price remains reasonable.
It would be nice to have an electric kettle in the room for coffee or tea.

Wonderful
The room was big enough to share with another person. Also the elevator was a big plus for the luggages.
It was detached from the main hotel so whenever we need coffee or tea, we have to walk across the street.

The airport shuttle is in fact not an airport shuttle at all. You must take a tour of the hotels for an hour before it eventually drops you off at the airport.

It’s location
It was really hard to find. You have to check in at a different hotel on another street. It was really noisy outside the room and you couldn’t shut the window because of how hot it was! The room was stifling hot with no a/c. The shuttle costs €40 to the airport. Breakfast is not included. Overall, this place is overpriced and not worth it :-(
