Wonderful
Good breakfast came with the room rate. Lunch bags at 10 CHF and Dinners at 19.5 CHF. Not bad for the cost of meals in Zermatt. Very decent staff in the cafteria.

It was on a hill, that after extensive hiking was the last thing I wanted to do. Charges for a towel, use of the washer and dryer.

Breakfast was really really good, staff were very friendly and helpful, allowed to leave the luggage under the stairs (not locked but was safe), toilet, shower and sink are separate and can be used by multiple people same time.
We have to take our sheets from front desk, make our beds and strip it off and take sheets and towels back to the front desk in another building??? After paying this much money?? Atleast have a place to collect dirty sheets and towels outside the rooms in every floor! The stay is in a different building next door. No elevators. Very hard with luggages. No ac or fan. Difficult in summer heat. Have to leave windows open but the. You can hear everything from outside. So if you are a light sleeper, it’s hard.

We could watch Matterhorn just outside of the property. Paid dinner was good and not expensive.
1 No elevator inside the building, so it was tough to carry large suitcases downstairs.
2. Not bright enough in the room.
3. The hostel is 15-min walking distance from the station with a steep uphill, and I knew free e-buses stopped nearby. However, the staff didn't provide much information about that. We walked a lot up and down, back and forth until a few hours before our check-out, a nice lady told us how to save energy by taking e-bus. Perhaps the locals don't take e-bus, but we tourists do need that information.

Nice property, clean, staff was friendly and helpful. One of the nicest hostels I’ve stayed at. Beautiful view of the Matterhorn from the property. Nice outdoor space to hang out.

We really enjoyed our room with our private bathroom. It was clean and on the main level of our building. All staff were friendly and polite! Really satisfied with the room and stay.
Only thing that could’ve been slightly better is the opportunity to check in a bit early if the room was ready. But I understand that is not at all something they have to do. We were satisfied we had somewhere to drop our bags on arrival while we waited for the rooms.

Price was affordable, only good thing I can share.
SUPER steep incline. Be prepared to be your own housekeeper as you are required to retrieve bedsheets, pillowcases, and duvet cover for each bed. You also must remove them all and bring to them on ground floor. Failure to comply results in fine. I asked staff about bus, told me closest stop was kuch bridg. There is actually 1 50 feet away that would save all the exhausting climb. Furthermore, be prepared to drag your luggage up to 8 flights of stairs. Evening kitchen staff thought yelling at my 12 yr old son was his best approach when trying to ask if dinner was open not knowing dinner is reservation only. My son saw people in same room the breakfast is held, so he went in and placed bread on a tray then asked for a plate. As I walked in behind him, I was asked for a ticket. I said, where can I buy one.....then the cook yelled at me, no....this you must reserve, no. I said can I buy one downstairs and he then stormed away murmuring in German. No sign on door or inside room to inform you of reservation only, so quite surprised by this. Also, anywhere I've been employed, direct interaction with a customer with good intent in this manner would result in termination. Very, very rude entitled people. Unfortunate.
