Disappointing
The Breakfast was good.
If you ask for 2 extra Towels for the very first time after a long warm sweaty 5 mile hike don’t be surprised if the host says that it is “completely unacceptable” and they rudely and begrudgingly give you 1 towel and then say “this can not continue”.

Hotel Romantica is family owned for many years and is authentic. It is on a quiet side street, it's very quaint & beautifully decorated in swiss country style. We loved the garden landscaping in front.
The owner, Michelle, is very nice and Thor, her front desk person was a jewel and so helpful.
We loved our room with a mountain and garden view. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was good, with great service.

Hotel Romantica is a lovely inn, in the middle of old town, but back off of the busy section of the street, which is nice. The owners and the staff were lovely and very helpful with recommendations. Everything was very comfortable and breakfast was very nice as well. I would definitely stay here again if I were to travel back to that part of Switzerland.

So charming. We had a suite and it was very nice. Seperate living room a place to sit and separate bedroom. I think our favorite thing was sitting I. The balcony. The owners are wonderful.

This is a hidden gem in Zermatt. The rooms are spotless, smell wonderful and are very comfortable. It's in a great location just off the main street within walking distance to everything. The outdoor garden is beautiful. The breakfast was abundant and delicious. And the hosts are so caring and friendly. They gave great recommendations for daily hikes and shared their favorite huts for food. I can't recommend this place enough.
I didn't like leaving this place. Seriously, there was nothing to dislike about this hotel.

The room was a bit warm during our August stay. A fan would have been nice for sleeping.

The property is stunning! Every detail was lovely and felt like a true retreat. Breakfast was fantastic!! The owners were the most welcoming and generous hosts and they went out of their way to ensure we had an unforgettable stay.

Thor and Michelle were excellent hosts. They were in touch with us, made sure pick up arrangements were done! Thor came down to pick us up from the train station and Michelle dropped us back to the station when we were headed out. It was such a big help with the luggage. Michelle made sure we were comfortable in our rooms. She recommended great restaurants close by for our dinner. She even made sure to pack breakfast the day we were headed out very early to catch the train. Thor gave us all the important information about visiting the Matterhorn, including maps and weather forecast! They served excellent Breakfast. The place is super clean and cozy. Both Thor and Michelle were like family, they always made sure we were comfortable in every aspect. We will definitely come back to stay here when we make our plans to visit Zermatt again.

1) The hotel is a family-based business, run by Michele and Thore. They are both fantastic persons, trying their best to make their guests comfortable in their hotel. During our stay, for each individual day we reached out to them and ask for a plan to spend the day and they patiently gave us great pieces of advice. It was my second time visiting Zermatt and because of Michele's and Thore's advice I could enjoy my stay much more than the first one.
2) The staff members are super friendly and trying to address your concerns as best as they can.
3) The breakfast is delicious.
4) The location of the hotel is perfect: just a few meters away from the museum and the main church which form somehow the town centre.

Romantica is a family run hotel that sits in a perfect location in walking distance to everything important in Zermatt. We had a spacious suite with balcony and fantastic views. The owners went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. The breakfast is fantastic. Romantica is steps from the main street with dozens of shops and restaurants.

We had the BEST stay! Michele and Thor took such kind care of us, they gave us the best recommendations for restaurants, hikes, skiing - and they made us feel at home. They have made the hotel so cute with tons of thoughtful touches, decorations, giving it a beautiful vibe. Also the breakfast every day was amazing and they even gave us Easter treats. Would highly recommend to stay here in Zermatt and we can’t wait to come back!

Thor and Michelle provide some of the warmest hospitality we have experienced in our travels. The hotel is cozy and quintessentially Swiss. In a town filled with 5 star stuffy and absurdly expensive options, Hotel Romantica is authentic and provides amazing value.
I can see the stairs in the cottage to be a bit tricky to navigate for older guests. My wife mentioned offering better cosmetics.
