We loved the concept presented. The views were phenomenal, the food was amazing, the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.
The overall condition of the rooms was not what we anticipated. They were a bit run down and tired for the price paid.

Amazing location and views. And, the Matterhorn cooperated! Storing most luggage at the train station worked well. Our room had the fantastic view. The furnishings and finishes were perfect for the mountain setting.
We looked forward to our 4 course dinner.
It started out beautifully, and deliciously. But, after the second course, things went downhill. Our main course didnt come to us for a very long time, and others who were seated after us were served sooner. When it arrived, the meat was very overcooked, and almost too tough to cut. We asked for a replacement, which was cooked better, but was still quite tough. NOT what we expected. Service continued to be extremely slow, and although we were the first to be seated, we were almost the last to finish.
We loved the whole setting, but suggest that the management look into how the meals are prepared on the Glacier Express "excellence class."

Hotel & staff were awesome! Best views of Matterhorn & trails were crazy good!
Price a little high, but understandable because of where you're at.
Dinner that's included is good, but there should be options for the meal in case of allergies etc.

Excellent location high in the mountains with great views. Dinner and breakfast included. Very comfortable rooms. It's a good way to experience the mountains outside of the daytime crowds.
Everything was great.

What an experience! The staff were extremely informative and helpful with everything from check-in to check-out. The rooms were spacious with phenomenal views. The food was delicious with an extensive wine selection. In the morning it was a true gift to wake up with no one else other than the few hotel guests to enjoy the serenity before the first ascent. Cannot recommend enough!

Our one-night stay in the Junior Suite at 3100 Kulmhotel Gornergrat was an unforgettable experience. The views from the room were absolutely breathtaking — with the Matterhorn and surrounding peaks right outside our window, it truly felt like being on top of the world.
We arrived earlier than the official check-in time, but the staff went out of their way to prepare our room as quickly as possible. Their warm and accommodating attitude set the tone for the rest of our stay.
The Junior Suite was spacious, beautifully furnished, and very comfortable. Thoughtful details and modern amenities made it easy to relax and enjoy the high alpine environment. We were a little concerned about the altitude at first, but it didn’t end up being a major issue for us.
Dinner and breakfast were both excellent — well-prepared dishes with fresh ingredients and generous portions, served with unbeatable views.
One of the most special parts of staying here was the peacefulness. After the last train left in the evening and before the first one arrived the next morning, the area felt quiet and almost private. With only a small number of hotel guests at Gornergrat, we were able to enjoy the scenery without the usual crowds.
The entire experience was magical — from the views to the food to the exceptional service. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a once-in-a-lifetime mountain escape.

Needed to book a second room for my 10 year old son rather than add an additional bed in the room that we were staying in

Just wow. The views from around the hotel and from our windows were exceptional. The beds were comfortable. The room was a little warm and we needed to keep the windows open. It was quiet and serene. The dining room staff were exceptionally attentive and helpful in keeping me safe with my food allergies. Breakfast was great. Be aware though that at such a high altitude we were all a l8ttle short of breath with minimal exertion.would have loved to buy some souvenirs of our experience but all the shops were closed for renovations. Also no shops to buy food or snacks on the mountain. Come prepared if you don't have dinner included.

The location is exceptional. The hotel and staff are welcoming and unpretentious. Despite the low temperatures outside, the room and other areas are warm.
The breakfast was copious and of good quality.
The evening meal is well cooked and nicely presented.
The evening meal menu has little choice, so some people may be disappointed.....

I absolutely loved this experience. This has to be my favorite trip so far! The highlight was definitely the majestic view of the Matterhorn, which was simply breathtaking. Another unforgettable part was the stargazing experience. It was phenomenal. Our guide was knowledgeable and engaging. We had the chance to see Jupiter, Double Clusters (H Persei and X Persei), Mars, and Messier 13, and the most amazing part was that we saw a shooting star.
The staff were also friendly, helpful, and very accommodating. My husband experienced some elevation sickness, but they provided great advice, which really helped. Surprisingly, the dessert from our dinner seemed to make him feel better, so he was able to enjoy the stargazing too.
For dinner, we ate at Glacier Kitchen, where we had a “hotpot” meal. The food was pretty good, though we were a bit confused about the sauce (I guess we, as Asians, are used to a different type of sauce). But the staff were super helpful, making sure we had everything we needed.
As for the facilities, they were okay. And sadly, Zoom was closed. Renovations are ongoing, too. I was hoping to find a spa for some relaxation, but given that the location is at the top of the alps, I guess it is not feasible. It would also be nice if they had a vending machine for hot beverage like hot chocolate especially since the weather is cold—it would be a great little touch for hotel guests.
Overall, this stay was absolutely worth it. The hotel offers a peaceful and modest retreat at the top of the Alps, with a spectacular view that makes it all worthwhile.

Included breakfast, dinner and nice location.
This area only Kulm hotel, if we are not skiing, the possibility must buy train ticket to go down to next station for sledge or down to Zermatt but expensive train ticket. So this hotel only for skiing people.

The view is amazing! The half board was really worth it considering location of the hotel and the quality of food.
It would help if there were any discounts for the train service to the hotel. The hotel is accessible only by Gornergrat train and it's 100$ roundtrip from the Zermatt and it adds on

The views.....breathtaking!!!
Price/rules of the train... it should be clearly disclosed in the hotel description that train tickets are NOT included. Explained clearly that you have a time limit for each ticket, and it includes only one ride up and down. For example, if you want to go down and explore Zermatt... you have to pay another full price ticket to go back up to the hotel. Another example:
we bought tickets(up
+down). Arrived at the top and stayed at the hotel for 2 nights - on the way back down, the tickets were no longer valid! Why? We followed the rules! We used a ticket to go up....now we are going down. Were we supposed to buy another ticket to go down, only because we stayed at the hotel for 2 nights? There should be exceptions for the hotel guests, especially if you pay full price for tickets, maybe even discount or options for several rides....
