My wife and I stayed at Grindellodge for 4 nights, and we could not be happier with our experience. It was truly awesome from start to finish. The interior design is unique and delightful, featuring Japanese-inspired furniture and homely colors that make the space feel warm and inviting.
On the practical side, the room was perfect. There was an excess of storage and plenty of places to hang our belongings, something we always miss in hotels. We also appreciated the thoughtful accessibility settings on the TV, which worked exactly as they should. The room even had its own heaters that made the space incredibly cozy. I ended up oversleeping more than once, wrapped in warmth like I was in a soft cocoon.
Breakfast was another highlight. They kindly adjusted it to accommodate our needs and served it with such care that it genuinely felt personal. Everything in the lodge carries that same feeling. The whole place is clearly set with love and attention, and you feel it in every detail.
We loved the calm location and spending time on the balcony soaking in the beautiful views. As a side note, I found myself treating the lodge as if it were my own home, because that is how safe, comfortable, and naturally welcoming it felt.
But above all, the staff made our stay unforgettable. They were so sweet and treated us like family throughout our visit. It was a genuine, heartwarming experience.
We highly recommend Grindellodge and can’t wait to return.

Breakfast, staff, and room were amazing. You can either take a bus located outside of the hotel down to the main area OR you can walk ~20 mins or so.
Huge shoutout to Antonio & Dani for going beyond to make our stay so welcoming and comfortable. Really loved the selection at breakfast and definitely miss everything about this place now that we're back home!

Location was great just a bit out of the town centre. There is a free shuttle bus which goes from just outside the hotel.
The restaurant for breakfast and dinner was amazing.
Gym has no weights.
Our room had a balcony but it looked at other properties, rather than mountain views

The staff were very attentive and helpful!! The property was spotless and decorated in a cute, modern, cozy fashion. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful.
Location was a bit further up the hill, which was great because it was quiet.
Loud footsteps in room above every evening and early morning. Needs better soundproofing. Maybe stay on top floor next time.

The property was beautiful, the rooms were clean, with good space and modern. The staff were amazing, everyone especially Dani was incredibly kind and helpful. Also, the Umami restaurant had amazing food and the buffet breakfast was great.
Would be great to have a mini market to buy snacks or a reduced menu with additional food (sandwiches, salads, etc). Considering everything closes very early in Grindelwald, having an alternative to eat would be amazing.

Great facility, room, bathroom, restaurant, quality buffet breakfast beginning at 07:00. Smiling and friendly staff. 121 bus runs to the train station and on to Grindelwald Terminal from in front of the hotel. Altogether a very enjoyable experience.

I had such amazing conversations with the staff members here. It's clear how much they also love the outdoors and their passion for the Alps. The hotel has great modern facilities. It smell cleans and nice all the time. The view was fantastic. I'd stay here again if I return to Grindelwald 100%.

Newly renovated, beautiful decor and bathroom products. Super clean, great and helpful staff. had a delicious Japanese restaurant off the lobby. Very tranquil. Laundry facilities for free. Fabulous breakfast. Very welcoming atmosphere. Would definitely stay there again.

I truly enjoyed my stay at Grindellodge. The staff was very helpful, the hotel provided everything we needed, and the Japanese restaurant was excellent. The view from my room was extraordinary, making the whole experience even more memorable. I highly recommend staying here

The property was beautiful, well located and well kept. The breakfast was also amazing! But the best part of the hotel was easily the staff. Dani was incredible from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. He gave us great pointers and always made us feel like he was truly invested in our happiness and enjoyment of the trip. The rest of the staff that we interacted with were also great including Antonio in the morning and Victoria. Everyone was great and they really helped make our stay magical.
The room does not get cold enough in the summer. That’s really my only complaint.

The vast array of breakfast offerings was impressive...and quite tasty! Room was clean, attractive, and functional. Surroundings were very quiet. Nice escape from the activity in town. Staff was awesome.
Since the buses don't run past 6pm, we had to use the hotel's taxi service twice. I was surprised how expensive it was given the short drive between the hotel and the town.

I loved the cleanliness and newness of the room and hotel overall. It was a great view from the room. Breakfast was great also. It was further from the main tourist area so not as many people walking by, which was a huge plus for me but could be an issue if someone doesn't want to walk as much. I mostly walked to and from the bus station and train stations, but you could easily hop on a bus if you timed it right. I'm pretty sure they offer parking and the lot wasn't too full, but I was travelling without a car so it didn't affect me. Staff was also friendly and great!
I can't think of any improvements, but just be aware of the hotel location a bit outside the main area and an uphill walk and make sure it won't cause you an issue. Like I said, the hotel location was a plus for me!
