hotel’s location
During my stay, I unfortunately discovered that a portion of the cash I had kept in my room bag was missing. I first reported this to hotel management on August 14. As this fell over a weekend, the hotel only started its investigation and informed me that I should contact the police on August 17, the day of my departure – which did not leave me a real opportunity to file a police report before my flight.
I want to be fair to the hotel and note that management did engage with their internal investigation but it didn't give any result. I would encourage guests to use the in-room safe or hotel deposit box for valuables rather than leaving cash in luggage. I would also suggest that hotels consider how weekend timing may affect guests’ ability to respond to such matters before departure.
Separately, the hotel was undergoing renovation works during my stay. This is worth knowing in advance if you are planning to book during this period.and pay that money.

The staff upon arrival were friendly and welcoming, from the doorman to the receptionist and concierge. Mr. Shaikh at the concierge was really helpful in helping me with my flight tickets. The location is superb, there is no better location in Geneva in my opinion. The rooms were spacious, airy, and clean and having airconditioning to battle the heat wave was bliss! We had a beautiful stay and enjoyed watching the World Cup finals on the roof top with panoramic views of Geneva. I would stay again and again at Metropole.
Some bathrooms were installed with a handheld bidet sprayer, but my junior suite was not. Would love to see all toilets fitted with a bidet spray. Also there was some construction going on at the time of my stay, which closed off some amenities; however, there was no disturbance whatsoever and we didn't notice any construction going on.
