Staff friendly and helpful
Resturant not open for evening dining and it was my impression from information on line that it would be. Staff did not seem available at the bar in the evening to order drinks

The hotel's design is brilliant, and the pillow and bed were really comfortable. The hotel is very close to the lake and has a nice coffee shop where you can get some food at night. Parking is very close by and secure. A lot of restaurants are just downstairs.
The window of our room faces the red light street, so when we come back from there, we can see some working ladies over there. Surprisingly, it did not have much noise at night, and we felt safe in general despite the situation.

Not in a great area - the red light district
Bizarre and temperamental elevator ‘swipe’ system to summon an elevator (which had about a 50-50 success rate - no idea what’s wrong with a normal button)
The room was seriously hot - I couldn’t imagine staying here in summer. It was not even hot outside and the room was sweltering. I slept with the air con supposedly on full blast, which was still pretty ineffective.

the room was nice, clean and well decorated
the breakfast spread was awful. There were flies on the bread and the staff was rude.

The hotel is very centrally located within walking distance of the Lake and also Geneva Train Station. There are many shops and restaurants close by. My room was quiet and I slept well. There was a refreshment corner with drinks and snacks for guests at the lobby bar throughout the day which is great. Staff were helpful and attentive. They allowed me to keep my luggage discreetly after I checked out and before my train ride.
I had some issues using the lift as the electronic sensor needs to be pressed in a way to be activated. It took some time to get used to that.

The East West Hotel was excellent. The Front Desk staff are very helpful and nice. They upgraded us to a suite because it was my birthday. Much appreciated! The rooms were big and the bed was super comfy. The bathroom was lovely. We also enjoyed the breakfast served in the bar area.

5th floor room assigned to us was within the roof structure itself with an angled ceiling.
