Famous for their name, it's no surprise that the Ritz-Carlton is considered one of the best hotels in Montreal. Situated in downtown Montreal, it's a great place to book if you plan on visiting the area.
From the staff, service, room and cleanliness, you'll have a near perfect experience and if there's any issues, don't hesitate to contact the reception.
I'd also like to give a huge shout out to Arlene who emailed me before our stay to see if I needed anything extra. She made sure our stay would have a little extra touch to make it even more special - something none of the other hotels in the area do.
We did have a couple of small nitpicks that could easily boost the experience even more:
- Despite being in a suite, there was surprisingly no stocked mini bar or snacks. Compared to other 5 star hotels in the area that offers a huge variety, it's a bit of a shame.
- We had difficulties contacting room service - for some reason, 2 out of the 3 phones in the room were not connecting properly.
- Because of the above, it would be interesting to see if they'd like to look into room service via a touchpad, TV or smartphone. The Four Seasons is a good example of a hotel chain trying to change the antiquated way of requesting simple things to your room into something much more modern.
- The big breakfast options were very tasty, but sadly lacking in quantity. I was expecting a little bit more considering the price and how most guests rated their breakfast highly.

The service is paramount.
The property is seasoned. You have to bump up the heater to levels beyond what you set at home to feel comfortable. The breakers to the room tripped during our stay. The pillows were very substandard for a hotel of this caliber.

This is a beautiful property, as are all Ritz Carlton locations. the rooms are large and very comfortable. The staff is very attentive.
There was no lounge are in the lobby. There really should be a place to sit and relax or talk that’s not in your room. We tried to sit in an area that us the bar area at night and, even though they weren’t serving, we were told we were not permitted to sit there. I would not choose this property on my next visit to Montreal.

Loved the style , the decor and the feel of the hotel
Just one interaction with host at the restaurant/ bar on our first evening. Wasn’t made to feel quite as special as I would have expected . We were dressed casually as had just arrived and she asked for room number straight away ( although people can come in off street to drink/eat there) when she knew our suite number I felt her approach improved.
