Wonderful
We stay in the English Bay area of Vancouver often, alternating between the Sylvia and XX Hotel; one classic style, one more modern. Sylvia - the classic style - is consistently terrific. Tremendous location; great staff; clean, well-maintained rooms; etc. Add to that a great restaurant & comfortable bar with a view of English Bay. It works for us; has for a number of years.

The location was awesome. The breakfast too.
I like the building with it with its history, but it needs to be fixed a lot and and look a lot better than it is now at the same time, keep its charm

The historic bar and restaurant were great. Nice drinks and excellent entertainment. The rooms were spacious, bed was comfortable and it was very quiet.
The stay left nothing to be desired. I truly enjoyed my stay and will be back.

It has an amazing location with a lot of good restaurants nearby. The hotel is old, however, it has its charm and you know that it is a historic site in advance. The staff is great.
It is not possible to regulate the temperature of the room. We never suffered from the cold temperatures, but it might be important for some travelers.
