Location was walkable to downtown.
Looks nicer on the outside than it is on the inside. Inside is outdated, smelly and the AC doesn’t work.
You pay extra for parking.

Location is close to downtown and the staff are lovely.
The building is quite dirty and my bedsheets were stained. There isn’t enough fridge space and some of those fridges are really filthy - dead flies at the bottom that no one has cleaned out. Supplying towels would be nice as well. This place should be nicer given the price.

Very good staff, location and comfortable bunks. I am an older woman who ended up on an upper bunk due to it being the last bed available, therefore not as easy for me to get up and down. However, I was already aware that this was possible so not complaining.
I needed parking but was unaware I would have to pay extra at the time of booking through booking.com.

The staff were absolutely fantastic, so friendly and welcoming, which we truly appreciated!
We understand that maintenance issues can sometimes slip through the cracks, but basic things like working lamps should be a given.
We did run into a few issues:
-The window couldn’t open (according to the notice on the window), so we were left with no choice but to "enjoy" the "fresh" air... from the AC.
- The walls were a bit on the "rustic" side, lol, it looked like someone started cleaning but got distracted and left some spots behind.
- The bed lamps didn’t work, so we had to rely on our phones for light.
- The bed, which was listed as a Queen (by your QAs), felt more like a Full.

Good location
The room smelled pungent. It was clear bleach had been used but the smell was strong and there overpowering. Compared to other hostels I’ve stayed in in Canada, staff weren’t as welcoming or helpful— frequently not at desk and would take long to answer the front door. The facilities were quite run down though worked fine. Given the low price I suppose you get what you pay for!

Second visit to Hi Kelowna. It was a busy weekend in Kelowna with the Apple Triathlon on over the Saturday and Sunday and the hostel was full. Enjoyed my time again in the 4 bed female dorm all the girls were lovely, considerate and thoughtful. The bathrooms were clean, and the facilities in the kitchen and dining room were good. The staff were cheerful and very helpful.
