Room - very spacious, lovely to have the extra sink outside of the bathroom, lots of lighting and storage room.
One room had a very small bathroom and a lingering aroma of cigarette smoke - this was dealt with by housekeeping as soon as I reported it.

All in all, I enjoyed my stay at Chateau Louis.
It’s not luxurious, but it’s clean, secure, and practical — especially for long-distance rail travellers like me.
Despite the online complaints I’d seen, I had no issues with staff or cleanliness.
And with the supermarket next door, laundry on site, and solid amenities — it made for a really convenient stopover.
The only downside?
No direct public transport from the VIA Rail station.
But if you’re travelling light — like I was with just a backpack — it’s manageable on foot.
