Good location and the front desk loans out bear spray to guests as needed. Most of the staff members I spoke with were friendly.
Room was not very clean when I got there. Crumbs over the tables and chairs, hairs on the pillow cases, etc.

Absolutely loved my room, it felt so cozy and home like. It’s got an old style but that’s part of what I loved about it, I hope they don’t change it so I can go back to the same cozy atmosphere it has. The reception was super kind and helpful. Was also nice knowing they had a washer and dryer. Only a short walk to the bus stop for a trip into town.
Toilet kept running, though I did find a way to make it stop after 10 mins of trying. Though it will no doubt bother the next person who can’t figure out how to stop it

We just needed a stopover while driving to Montreal, but those mountain views were absolutely stunning. Room was spacious and had everything we needed. It was close walking distance to food options.

The staff are super friendly and ready to help! There was a minor issue with an appliance in the room. I let the front desk know as I was leaving for the day and it was remedied by the time I returned.
The rooms may be dated looking, but trust me when I say that they are CLEAN. As someone who can hyper fixate on dirt and potential bacteria hot spots, I felt pretty comfortable here. The sheets and towels were clean, as was the bathroom and fixtures. Things may look a bit run-down in spots (given the cost of renovating these days, am I surprised?), but that doesn't mean they're dirty or unsanitary.
The shower head was quite low. Like level with my nose low. I'm only 6'-0" tall, so I don't usually encounter this issue. I had to crouch down in the shower to rinse my hair.
The carpets could use replacing. It doesn't matter how intensely you clean them, they eventually reach a point where they just need to be replaced. Given the fading and old coffee stains, these ones are pretty much there.

I came in not expecting much due to the reviews but ended up not understanding why the low ratings. The beds are really comfortable! The rooms are really clean, I had 7 to 9 hours sleep a day (spent 4 nights here) everything is working, if you want your rooms cleaned after a day of exploring Banff and doing Icefield Parkway we go home and our room is cleaned.
Location is perfect, close to all the cafes and restaurant options + grocery stores if you are on a budget. Always felt safe here (I traveled with my Mom)
Overall, I would stay here again and I would recommend this place. I've been to so many places all around the world, and this place does not deserve the low rating. You go to Canmore to explore the national parks. You're not there to spend the entire day inside your hotel room.
We used the mini hot pool and sauna too! That was a plus, and if you ask nicely they are very accommodating. Never excountered a rude staff.
We did go in October (low Banff season) which made our stay affordable versus the summer (high season)
Our view was great too (we stayed in Room 230 with views of the mountains)

The location was great and having green space to walk my dog right outside the door was really nice
There was a near constant noise. It sounded like it was probably the heating system making tap tap tap tap tap tap tap noises, the vast majority of the time. I had to go buy earplugs because it was making it impossible to sleep. About an hour after I arrived they came knocking on the door to bring the dog bowl and bed. I was trying to take a nap as I have been driving all day and was exhausted. They didn’t just knock and leave it at the door ,or better yet just leave it at the door. They kept knocking and kept knocking and finally I had to tell them I was trying to rest.

The location in town was very good and walkable to many restaurants, walking paths and bike trails.

If you are coming out to CANMORE to do some cycling the location is brilliant as it's almost at the start of the legacy trail. It's close to downtown.
The hotel had seen its heyday probably about a decade ago it was in desperate need of a makeover. Rooms really dated and the standard room does not offer things like a microwave or fancy decor.

My one bedroom apartment was clean and the bed is comfortable. Everything works. The kitchenette is an added plus. Showers hot and pressure was good. Easy access to the highway and a 5-7 minutes drive to downtown.
As mentioned by others, there are no bedside lamps nor power plugs in the bedroom and the curtains didn't close well. I used cloth pins to secure the curtains and a couple of extension cords plugged into living room sockets did the trick.

I love the location, Me and my family have stayed here before and it’s good.
This time during our stay the outlet in the bathroom is not working so we couldn’t use the hair dryer. The bath tub was also draining very slow when we shower the water was accumulating at our feet.
