Featuring a wood burning fireplace lounge in the lobby, Basecamp Lodge is conveniently located within walking distance to downtown Canmore plus has easy access to the highway. Some rooms also include a sitting area, a balcony and / or a fireplace, plus a portion of rooms are equipped with full kitchen facilities. Bed was fantastic. Decor was cozy. Shower was like a firehose!
Noise from trains in the backyard was mildly disturbing, but didn't happen very often. Parking lot was really hard to navigate, as there was zero room to navigate turns around the building.

Attentiveness helpfulness kindness of staff
Upon self check-in the door to our assigned unit was open. Anyone could have and may have (we don't know) walked right into our room. It was a bit unnerving for both my mom and I ; more so her.

I loved that it was walking distance to downtown and that it wasn’t too busy.
Parking was my only struggle, because if one person parked incorrectly it eliminated two spaces

Disappointing
It looked nice on the outside.
The fecal matter on the toilet which the staff never removed even though they were told about the problem. I had trouble navigating my RAV4 around the corner of the building as parking was very tight. I have not had this difficulty before when parking at a hotel. The parking stalls that would have been easy to park in were blocked off. The parking is enough to make me never stay at this property again as there are other properties in Canmore with way better parking.
