They up graded me, had a jacuzzi in the room which was great just needed a step for us short legged people

Just the area
The cleaners and the hygiene was very bad and beds were not cleaned for 2 consecutive days and when we complained about the matter for the tissue the front office staff was not polite

convenance too safe areas, staff where nice and room was clean, amenities were adequate, breakfast was good, (get there early). we planned on two nights and stayed 3 because it was a good value and central to everything. I would defiantly recommend The Royal Hotel Calgary for overall safety convince and value
staff during breakfast should be more attentive, I saw 4 ppl standing around when they should have been taking care of the area and the head guy was watching the clock and counting down to 10:00 am when the service stopped.
I was told no vending machines for beverages were in operation by a desk attendant. the next day I walked by one in operation.

Of the 2 elevators 1 was out of service. It was a serious issue due to time required to wait to get an elevator with room for two to get in. We could see staff was also fairly frustrated as they had to wait with their carts for a long time.

Windows had finger prints, our bathroom smells sweats, may be the person before us was sweating heavily and cleaners must have rashed through without touching all the surfaces.

The lobby looks ok, parking lot is big.
There is odour in the property, particularly in the hallway and guest rooms. If you are sensitive to the odour, this hotel is not recommended.
