Disappointing
The property is quite old—nothing too fancy. The pictures in the advertisement look like they were taken ten years ago.
Bedsheets not ironed, toilets not cleaned well.
The staff were far from welcoming, simply staring as if they couldn’t care less, which was frustrating. In my view, your stay and overall experience begin with the very first person who checks you in, and unfortunately, this set a negative tone for the rest of the visit.

The staff was great. Breakfast was excellent. I would give a higher rating if there were more luxury feel. One elevator was broken down for a bit but quickly repaired. We would stay again.
There were few restaurants in walking distance. The house restaurant had weak reviews.

Disappointing
Rooms were clean , location suis my job ,
I rarely leave negative reviews, but I felt compelled to share my recent experience at this hotel due to the stark difference from my previous stay.
Hospitality is the cornerstone of the hotel business not just offering rooms, but making guests feel welcome and cared for. Unfortunately, that was completely lacking this time. From the moment I arrived, the attitude and behavior of the staff left much to be desired.
When I reached the reception, two front desk staff were sitting and looking at each other, unsure who would attend to me. No greeting, no eye contact, no initiative. When I asked why the check-in time was 4 PM and not the usual 2 PM (as practiced in most hotels), the response was, “We don’t know about other hotels; this is how it is here.” Not only unhelpful but also dismissive. Then they added, “This hotel is the cheapest in the area,” which was both irrelevant and inaccurate. For context, other nearby hotels charge around CAD 130–140 with 2 PM check-in. This hotel charges CAD 127 and demands CAD 10 per hour for early check-in. So where exactly is the price advantage?
The receptionist went so far as to assume I picked this hotel because it was cheap. I had to correct her I chose it due to its proximity to my meetings. These kinds of assumptions and comments are unprofessional and reflect poor training.It didn’t end there. I called room service no one answered. I called reception requesting a dental kit. The response? “We do not keep dental kits at reception,” I asked if I could purchase one if it wasn’t complimentary, and again, I got the same blunt line. No empathy, no alternatives offered.
At checkout, I requested an invoice and was told, “We do not give invoices you can get it from Booking.com.” In my years of travel, staying in hotels across different countries, I’ve never encountered a hotel that refused to provide a receipt for a completed stay.

Good size rooms and a comfortable bed. Booked the rooms online and were good value.

I noticed the reception lady who checked me in applied the higher rate and not the Booking.com rate I got, coz the security deposit returned to my credit card was less than CAD 100. I brought this to their attn, and glad they refunded me the amt. Staff should ask guests upon checkout if they want a copy of receipt/invoice so they can check charges. It's a hassle, esp when you have other business to take care of, esp when the difference in amt happens to be significant.

Breakfast was better than most free hotel breakfasts
Only complaint is that the bed was too soft, making it hard to sleep comfortably. It was like sleeping in a bowl.
