There is a great local brewery not far from the hotel. Great food.
The whole place was shabby. The pool was tiny and the pool deck was dirty. The elevator seemed to barely work with the doors not closing on more than one trip. The halls and room were swelteringly hot and our air conditioner kept banging every time it turned on and off.
But the WORST part was the adjoining room. We booked one room and the other guests were no loud they might as well have been in with us. My daughter was to compete for gymnastics early in the morning so I called the front desk about 1am to complain about the noise. The guy was so rude and just said well yeah, people are drunk from the bars. Like duh. He came up and was standing outside our room as we were leaving just to tell me he didn’t hear anything. Clearly they heard me on the phone - since the walls were paper thin.
We ended up leaving in the middle of the night and cancelling our plans the next day. I literally drove home in the
Middle of the night rather than stay here.

The staff were friendly at all times of the day and evening. Complimentary (basic) breakfast was good, pool looked fun, gym looked well equipped. We had a large group and needed to meet as a group a few times and we used the comfy area of the lobby. It was a great hotel. Also, there is a tons of necessities in the area (restaurants, liquor store, dollar store, pharmacy, activities). If I ever need to come back to Calgary, I will stay here again. ?
