HRE4QL We are light Bfast eaters and everything we needed was there and delicious.
The weather could have been a little bit warmer for sitting outside which is certainly not the owners responsibility.

It’s not a hotel. It’s a small room inside a house with very thin walls and a dog walking around upstairs. The room I stayed in does not come close to the standard of even a 2-star hotel. It was a very uncomfortable stay for me. Listing it as a “4-star hotel” on Google is completely misleading. This is not a hotel, and I believe whoever labeled it as 4-star has likely never seen what a real 4-star property looks like.

Convenient location
The code provided for the outside door did not work. This is a major problem with their check in process. The remote for the tv in the main room was broken and therefore it was difficult to control the volume. The bed frame was very squeaky.

We would like to have met someone!
We are used to have somebody preparing our breakfast, someone to speak to, instead of having to prepare the breakfast, wash the dishes, we felt at home et not at the start of the vacation! The check in and the stay felt ver impersonal!!!

THe outdoor area overlooking the Bow River was lovely.
My wife and I both use CPA machines placed on both sides of the bed. A week before our arrival and before the cancellation deadline, we sent an email to the manager asking if the bedroom had two bedside tables for our CPAP machines. They never responded. We arrived at the facility to find we had a very small room with no table on either side of the bed. We called the manager to complain but got no offer to refund our money so we spent the night there. We put chairs on both sides of the bed for our CPAP machines which blocked access to the bathroom which is big deal for 70 year olds who use the bathroom at night. We had a poor night's sleep in part because of the bad mattress. We had reserved the room for two nights and asked the manager to cancel our 2nd night's stay and not charge us for the 2nd night, especially since they had not told us that the room was not equipped for CPAP mahines. They refused since we had booked our room though Booking.com. The manager said we would need to contact Booking. Given the horrible situation, we vacated the room by 8am and stayed at the Residence Inn in dowtown Calgary for less than we were charged at River Ridge. We called Booking.com to complain and ask for a refund. The Booking representative said she would contact the owner and put us on hold. Afte waiting 2 hours we hung up the phone. Later, Booking sent us an email saying that the owner refused to refund our money for the 2nd night of our stay. The Booking representative contacted Rvier Ridge management who refused to refund the money for the 2nd night's stay. The River Ridge manager said only Booking could authorize a refund. So why did River Ridge then refuse he request when Booking contacted them? We have never had such a horrible, uncaring experience at any lodging in our life. We lost nearly $200 in this fiasco! You have been warned.

I loved the personal touches that they did in the room with it being our honeymoon! Very prompt to answer any questions. The room felt very elegant, yet homey and comfortable at the same time! Very comfortable bed!

The location and cost were good value.
Advertised as a bed & breakfast.They had oatmeal and cereal for you to cook with a hot water kettle. Did not really consider this a b&b felt more like an airb&b.

Our room was spacious and comfortable. It was nice having access to a washer and dryer.
It is not a B&B and should not be advertised as one. You never see the owner and the breakfast items are sparse. Fortunately, I got the email with the check-in codes. Two other couples were frustrated trying to reach someone to let them know how to access their rooms. If all of the rooms are booked you will probably not get a parking spot and have to park on the street. I did not realize this place was in a neighborhood.

Very poor signage and not easy to understand how to access the rooms. The door codes did not work on first try, no response at all when I called the two numbers posted on the door and left a voicemail and text messages at 9:30pm when I couldn’t enter the property. They didn’t even return my call or texts the next morning to check in.
Now that I’ve reviewed some of the other recent reviews of the property this seems to be a recurring issue and it is very disappointing the hosts have not tried to rectify a very poor situation and don’t seem to care that their guests are often stranded outside the accommodation.

Almost everything about this stay was nice. The river on top of all aspects was magnificent. The cleanliness of the room, the private bathroom and the fridge inside the room were awesome. The facilities in the common area and the breakfast items were more than I expected. The dishes and in general almost all items in the common area were clean.
There were only two minor issues: 1. I could not find any slippers 2. The rooms are not soundproof, so you may hear noises from the rooms on the top and next to your room. However, these issues did not have a considerable impact on the quality of my stay and I had a nice experience. Resolving these issues makes it a perfect stay.
