Staff was very polite and cooperative
River side access is a joke. Our comparison point was Terma Linca Resort in Thimphu, and Le Meridian was an absolute disappointment. Not even a chair to sit by the river side, on top of a guard stopping us from going there. Room windows can't even be opened fully to enjoy the river view unfiltered.

The elevator didnt close without hand help! Waiters didnt change dirty fork and knife and the senior waiter explained it as a standard... standard for 5star hotel??? Plates were scratched.
Internet speed was impossibly weak. And when on the 3d evening I complained about Internet speed, I was said its my problem and restart the computer. Considering there were just 2 rooms occupied in the hotel (coronavirus situation) it couldnt be MY stupidity.
Even though I liked my room, big one, with beautiful view to the river. But it doesnt cost its money and so many details spoiled all impression.
Its not Meridian.

There is nothing to not like about this place. Just that, it is a bit costly.

Exceptional
We loved every bit of our stay in the Le Meridian Paro, starting from the warm greetings by the staff, upgraded rooms, and many more as gifts. The location, surrounding views, interior, foo facilities were a lot more than what we expected. Food was awesome and the staff were amazing. Especially we were overwhelmed by the hospitality and kindness of Tashi, Sonam and the chef himself. We also found the lady who cleaned the rooms and the bellboy very personable and kind. We would highly recommend this hotel to those who are travelling with family. We are planning to be there again for longer stay.
The pool was under maintenance during our stay, which disappointed the kids a little. However, the surrounding landscape and the beautiful rocky river bank made it up for them.
