The breakfast was excellent, and the location was very convenient.
The rooms were quite dated and had a musty smell. The bed was uncomfortable, as it consisted of two single beds pushed together with a significant gap between them. There were also no power outlets next to the bed for charging a phone.

A internet deixa bastante a desejar, muitas vezes preferi usar o meu 5G à wifi.

Location was good, good value for price for a short stay, English speaking front desk.
Room was spacious, elevator was quick.
There is no "lobby" with seating. It would be nice to have a place to sit while waiting for your ride / Uber.
The breakfast was lacking, a lot of breads... more like a light carb load to hold you over for the morning.
Beds are very firm.

The staff was very accommodating. We arrived at 7am after 24 hours of travel, and they had a room ready for us.
We weren’t informed about renovations occurring at the property. The bed was very firm and the furnishings worn and dated. Nothing like the photos.

The construction that disturbed the peace during the February stay has largely dissipated. Some staff from the “olden days” are still working here, and take care of the customers with a smile.
The breakfast is nearly back: it has been scaled back to only one table, where before there were three, and it continues to provide an interesting variety, from local traditions to basic cereal. A vegetarian could be happy (ovo-lacto) as you can still ask for an omelet or tapioca. The location, 2 blocks from the main avenue, continues to be great, as witnessed by all the construction going on around the hotel.
You should watch the little sheets the staff fills out for omelet/tapioca requests: I never got what I actually ordered: either the chef didn’t read what was on the sheet, or the staff wrote it wrong.
the new owner is determined to ruin what was a wonderful boutique hotel by turning it “trendy”: reception being moved, a “padaria” installed, and where before you could ask early on for a late check-out, the new “team leader” said the earliest I could know is the morning of check-out. Not terribly helpful when the laundry across the street is planning to bring back your clean/pressed clothing at 3 and your Uber arrives at 4.
The construction nearby has limited the once-wonderful views from much of the hotel: rather than a city view, you now look into the condominium next door.

Location and staff were excellent. We LOVED that there was a "The Coffee" place across the street and an OXO around the corner!
The hotel was a bit small and old, as were the bathrooms. But the actual rooms were massive! :)

The room was comfortable and well equipped, with strong air conditioning, a laptop-sized safe, and a useful desk area that worked well as a workspace. The balcony was nice for opening the doors and getting fresh air while looking out over the surrounding buildings and city. The location was also convenient, only a few streets from Avenida Paulista.
The TV was not a smart TV, so it wasn’t possible to connect to YouTube or streaming services. The breakfast was fairly limited & loaded with mostly pastries, and the room service meal that I ordered(Picanha) was only average for the price. Some areas of the hotel, including the gym and pool area, felt a bit dated.

good location. friendly staff.
the half screen of TV has double shadow.
the faucets (sink and shower) do not work properly.
the hallway quite dusty and smelly; maybe due to remodel work in progress.

Location is very good, although tall condo/apartments are blocking many views, and the construction makes things uncomfortable.
Some staff (e.g. Jady) still marvelous. They manage to find answers for most questions guests have and know enough to recommend local venues for everything from pedicures to laundry.
Rooms are well kept as are public areas.
Frankly, the current “renovation” has been a major issue for a long-time guest: a younger owner has taken over, and is turning the boutique hotel into a caste system: the upper floors will be like US “club floors” and in the meantime the construction noise vibrates thru the entire building. The no-longer-bountiful breakfast buffet moved into a meeting room, making service difficult for both guests and workers. Again, no reduction in price for the reduction in service/quality. Furniture appears stained & worn. Towels show tears along edges. Bath amenities have been reduced/eliminated. The restaurant / bar is also closed for “renovation” so nowhere to visit or relax besides the reception.
I was told the renovation will be completed by the end of March 2026. Several hotels in the area offer what I valued about Estanplaza. I would suggest you give this beloved hotel a pass until they have settled on their new look/culture, and then ask many questions before paying more money for less value.

Pleasant
Location and the easiness to get around on foot, even to more remote places like historic center (about 2 kms away). Breakfast was good enough, but I missed espresso coffee (they could afford an espresso machine in the breakfast hall, I would assume).
Absence of a kettle or coffee maker in the room. I asked them in advance if they would have one in my room, they never responded to my request. This shortcoming seems to be a general feature at Brazilian hotels, unless it is a higher ranked one (like 4 or 5 star hotels). The "special" taxi service they call for you was not good (they try to take advantage of you, especially if you don't speak Portuguese). I would recommend to use Uber on App (with a higher tire service).

Room is nice, location excellent
There was an unresolved issue with the rate. I originally booked it as a single, but added a guest later, which the hotel confirmed in writing. But the rate was not updated and it was drama at checkin.
