Location very close to Farol da Barra. Confortable bed. Little monkeys visiting at breakfast.
Cockroaches at the patio entrance and at the suite bathroom. (Probably came from the window but who knows how if they don’t come to the kitchen, since it’s located on the ground floor).

I loved the staff: helpful, friendly, nice. The papaya juice for breakfast was amazing. Poisada estrela do Mar is a fantastic place to explore Barra and its great beaches.

Spacious room and large bathroom with plenty of hot water, good AC, and excellent location in the heart of Barra. Near many restaurants, shopping, bars, and a few blocks from the beach. The continental breakfast is a nice feature with fruit, eggs, breads, jam/butter, juice and coffee. I liked the open air feeling of the breakfast room.
The internet can be a bit unstable. It would be nice to have a desk in the room to be able to do some work on the laptop.

The owner Marcos and the team at Estrella do Mar are very customer-focused. I had such a great time and I was very comfortable there. It is also centrally located and it is an ideal place to stay whether you want to relax in the local area or venture outwards to the surrounding towns. An added bonus is that the pousada is literally on the beach front. There is a lovely beach promenade. The beach is literally across the road. The area is safe, has many tourists but obviously one still needs to be observant and to remain vigilant. To be honest, I would only stay there. It's excellent value, breakfast is a feast and the staff are extremely helpful. Last but not least ....is the friendly and adorable puppy named Zulema. I am a cat-lover but even I bonded with Zulema (the other guests appeared to love her too). I plan to visit and stay there again soon. I would encourage you to do the same...but don't tell everyone because Pousada Estella do Mar is such a great gem... could you imagine if the whole world heard about this place... there would be no space for everyone! Fantastic value!! Check it out. You won't be sorry :-)
